I have a buddy who works for Conicelli hyundai so today he informed me and my buddy ryan the Nissan dealer got their first GTR so we went and checked it out for like 2 mins, it seemed pretty popular in the shop lol. My buddy was nervous he was gonna get in trouble, so I snapped 2 pics of it before I left...car has a scratch on the bottom from unloading off the truck and a dent in the roof thats getting fixed and still sold for 97k.

the sticker on the car was 73k....it sold for 97k so i guess they have a little bit of a markup...
east coast supposedly has a 20-30k markup and west coast supposedly has like a 40k-60k markup...
if you're in the market for a GTR 25k more prob wont mean much to your pockets...and its still a bargain under 100k IMO.
I dont see why they wouldnt be allowed to mark up the car, usually you just wouldnt do it because it wouldnt make sense cause noone is gonna buy a 50k 350z...or a 40k sentra....
people would gladly spend 97k for a car that can out preform cars double and triple the price....

why? you cant even modify the thing without having to worry about a sensor. from my understanding Cobb Performance is still trying to crack some codes on it. but they have the japan version.

dude it has sensors where you wouldnt believe, like for instance the wheels you cant even upgrade them without you having to plug a sensor in or something. i remember reading this somewhere. i wouldnt never pay anything over 40K for a Nissan Iam sorry theres no way id pay 90G to 100G if not more for a Skyline. when all cars do is lose value.

well obviously its been done or i wouldnt of seen the big tuning companies put on aftermarket wheels. sensors are inevitable, isn't part of tuning being creative..there's ways around everything. With your logical, why modify a car at all? or buy a new car? its a car for enthusiast. we love cars and i rather get something i'll be happy with than just settle with a joe-blow run of the mill car. I'm not disagreeing with you, its got a big price tag but if you can afford it why not.

Talk to some ZR-1 guys. Apparently their mark up has the price going all the way to $400k. The thing you're talking about is a TPMS thats probably integrated into the OBD system. Alls you have to do is swap over the TPMS.

its nice, but for that much.. I'd rather buy a house or 2.. and From what I have heard you cant touch the engine AT ALL.. do anything to the engine aftermarket and it voids the warranty along with the fact that the car wont run. And truthfully, why would you want to. the thing has everything one could hope for. Yeah some of us have a problem with keeping our hands off the engine or out of the engine bay, but this car completely shuts down and wont work at all if you so much as change the air filtration system out ( ie for a CAI or Short Ram) from what I have heard.and I also heard that Nissan paid for their A techs to go to school to learn about the GTR because its engineering and fine tuning are supposedly top notch on this car.
Anyways, nice pics. I really like it in black.. it looks nicer IMO than the other colors.

Not worth the 100k now...if you are smart you would wait it out for the first 2-3 years at max then pick one up for 60k-ish. If I had the money, that would def be my game plan! But for now I'll stick to my stroker kit Sr20

$50k houses is something to look forward to? :-p jk jk, on the serious side im sorry but i still have to disagree i dont think it should sway you from this car, not trying to argue just car talk, most dealers cannot void your warranty due to modifications unless it is a direct relation to the problem..how many dealer will up hold to it i can't say, its been pretty good with the mazda side tho. As ive said, this car has been handling upgrades pretty friendly and the aftermarket support is already out there. Don't forget its been out for a while overseas and a handful to a few big name tuners. It is also computer-based, which can and will be cracked. I'm sure they're going to train their techs, its a new line of vehicle so they should definitely get familiar with it especially with the sticker price. Ask yourself would someone take their corvette to the hilly billy shop down the road to do the kind of work a tech do?

only one tech from each dealer that gets the GTR is allowed/knows how to work on it....they had to go through a whole program to learn how to work on it....those dudes are pretty lucky..

Price isn't swaying from Weather I want it or not.. its Priorities personally for me.. house first then expensive car., but that kind of money could be put down on a nice house is what i meant.. and Again,. from what I heard, the NEW motor it comes with you cant do a thing or the car shuts off completely.. it wont start or anything. atleast thats what i heard.

<=== already sat in one :)
BTW, whoever said 400K for a ZR1, well, you made me spit up my coffee. I've heard, at the MAX, 160K. At the MAX. Unless it's some Barrett Jackson auction, 400K will never happen.

i hear what you're coming from, for the ones buying these cars, money really isn't going to be a factor. there's no way the car can be that sensitive especially since they have already started modifing them. It is the ones that aren't sure what they are doing that is having problems and like with any car you can't just throw on parts and hope it works without doing the proper research.

Yup. First gen cars always have issues, but a thing that's r/d'd like this will assuredly have less. Hell, there's even a diff between Jap-spec and US-spec.

Awesome, I didn't even think they were here yet. All the one's that are were imported so they're RHD. I guess that means Nissan started production of the LHD version, then. I didn't think it was happening until next year.
I'd like to go check this out but I'm sure it's behind a velvet rope and all so I won't bother. I know some people at Sloane Nissan so if they get one I'll be sure to share with you guys.

The only way you're getting in that car on the road is if the GM himself takes you out and even then, he'll be driving it. I highly doubt these will be available for test drives to just anyone.

yeah, they'll ask for a credit check, then a deposit, then pay stubs to show you can afford it, good luck finding one that isn't sold and that you have a .05% to actually sit in the car nonetheless test drive it

Yea they usually ask for a min of 20K...most are sold, but only 70% of total allotments are sold.
No way in hell you're getting a test drive unless you know/are the owner.
