Just remember what happened on Thurday night next time you feel your being harassed by " a Newtown cop who is just a retired cop out of Philly and has nothing better to do."
We all need to realize that the police men/women in our country protect us from the scum bags of our society on a daily basis and put their life on the line to do it, no matter where they work.
So, next time you have a chance meeting with one, thank them for doing their job instead of giving them a load of crap

I was just talking to him Thursday morning at newtown 7-11. He was asking me why I dont drive the Jeep as much as I used to (joking about gas prices)
Brian was a good guy.
The a$$hole that shot him and the other cop has a long report of assault charges, along with assulting police officers. When the police found him in the car at St.Mary's, they should have filled him with lead.

It is a real tragedy. I know most car guys have a certain amount of disdain for police, just because they have been pulled over "too many times", but they really are out there putting their lives on the line to keep these psycho's off the streets.
Unfortunately sometimes they pay the ultimate price.

That is terrible what happened. And anyone that knows how I feel about cops should know I have a lot of respect for them. But at the same time I think the reason most of the people here were complaining about them is that there might be one or a few that think they are on a mission to bust every kid racer out there. And it is that cop or those cops that deserve the bashing they get on here for pulling over people for stupid reasons and then making up crap to give them a hard time.
I suppose the next person that gets pulled over by that cop should get his name and then we can direct our comments about that person rather than "cops" in general. Because I know there are probably a lot more that are good people too, and just a few with an attitude problem.

I agree, a small percentage of cops have issues, but its a trade off.
I'll take the cop with the attitude over the homicidal criminal anyday.
Chalk up the unwarranted hassling from the police as pay back for all the stuff you should have been ticketed for in the past if you were caught.

I really haven’t had any problems with Police in recent years when I’ve been pulled over for driving over the speed limit. Like “dolphinS4” said, the Police deal with some real s#!t on a daily basis and must have their guard up at all times. Traffic stops can be unsettling for them also, because, they don’t know what the encounter is going to be like. Many people give them attitude or try and lie about speeding. When I’ve been pulled over, the Officer usually has his guard up (and that’s to be expected.) However, I’m always as pleasant as possible…
9 Ball: “How’s it going tonight sir?”
9 Ball: “Sure… no problem, I’ve got my license and registration right here.”
When an Officer asks me if I know why I’m being stopped, I never lie… “Yeah I was moving a little back there.” Once the Cop gets a good read from me, and finds out that I’m nothing more than a guy out enjoying my car and the road, they always drop their guard. On several occasions, the Officer has encouraged me to show up to the hearing and see the Judge (I’ve usually been able to pay the fine and not have points added to my license.) But if I was a hard azz, I’m sure the outcome would be different.
Unfortunately, this Officer caught the tail end of the worst part of our society, and it’s a shame. So the next time one of us is pulled over, make sure you show him/her you’re one of the citizens out here that appreciates what they do. You’re encounter with them will go much smoother.

It goes with out saying if you act like a azz then expect some sheete treatment. And when it's coming from a cop then you can expect a real good screw. Just behave yourself and normally cops are cool right back.
When I get pulled over I usually have my license and paperwork ready with my hands right on the steering wheel in plain view. If it's dark out I make sure to turn on all the cabin lights. That right there eases a cop's mind a lot.

Now i have had many encounters with law enforcement and honestly it is really all in your attitude with them which makes them decide how they are gonna treat you. Sure i think it is possible that some dislike certain types of people, like you kids in nice cars. But generally i think i have learned from my expiernces the nicer you are the nicer they are in return. This was a terrible thing that happened.
Does anyone know where people can send donations and such maybe we could all raise some money for his family or whereever they are donating money.

+1. I'd offer up my paypal to manage it, but since I have a business account, it takes percentages and shizzle out of it.
I say Troll does it.
Someone start a new thread for donations.

I can agree to disagree on this. I was recently pulled over for going 10 over the speed limit and was accused of street racing. I was polite and calm about the situation and tried explaining the situation and how I was not street racing (especially a n/t neon with an a-hole for a driver). He started to yell at me and tell me how he was pacing me the entire time and could be a butthole and get me for going 80 in a 45 and how he would take away my license, tow my car, etc. etc. After the two other officers pulled him aside and spoke with him, the outcome was no points on my license, but a nice hefty pricetag on the ticket. I also have to remember that this was the end of the month so it was "quota time".

Fight it.
The way I see it is even if the officer is a douche and a jerk if you keep your calm and stay nice to 'em then they are still more likely to cut you break that you can better at court.
Definitely easier to fight a smaller ticket.
Btw, where was this and what was the officer's name.

It was in Feasterville before Old Lincoln Hwy (I pulled into Bucks Technology Center as soon as he flipped his lights on), if you want to know the officer's name just IM/PM me and I can relay the details like that and badge number. He didn't even write on the ticket how he "clocked" me. Those guys must have been bored though because 4-5 squad cars showed up into the parking lot as I was getting dealt with.
