Need Help Tires!

What do you guys recommend as great tires. I want to get a new set of tires and this is my first time buying a set for a motorcycle. My buddies havent had too many different styles to recommend a really good one so I thought id ask.

Most of my ridding is on back roads with some highway. Long gevity doesnt matter a whole lot because im probally only going to have this bike for a year or so until i move on. Grip is the biggest thing and somewhat decent in the rain or wet roads just incase i get caught in the rain.

Post up what every you got and how you like them.

Front: 130/70/16
Rear: 180/55/17

I have the Pirelli Diablo Supersports F & R on my SV, but everyone that I know with a "R" bike runs the Diablo Corsa III. Depends on where you will spend most of your time. I'm happy with my tires. They warm up with a lap or 2 around the parking lot and let me get my knee on the deck.

Michelin Pilot Powers, front and rear, Great tire!

well let me ask you this are you going to be going super fast and don't care about changing your tires twice a season the dunlop qualifier is a GREAT TIRE. it sticks and handles great!! if you want to go the whole summer with a good set of racing type tire Michelin Pilot Powers. NOW if your like me and you don't care about the racing sticky tires and you want good grip the dunlop d220's are perfect but again thats for sub 80 mph kind of riding. they are on my "cruiser" aka my FZR1000 and i love it on that bike, but on my R1 i have Michelin Pilot Powers and they are great. but its totally up to what you want!

Michelin Pilot Power hands down best single compound street tire available. But you'll only get maybe a couple seasons out of them because they wear pretty fast.

If you're not the type that really likes going fast through the twisties and dragging your knee and stuff like that, then go with a tire that gets better mileage. Bridgestones and Dunlops typically get better mileage out of 'em.

well i ended up going with avon viper sports. Like none of the tires that were mentioned i could get front and rear because of the stupid 16inch front tire. One of the guys that works at Cycle City in Broomall said they were good and he has them on his busa. So once i get them installed ill let you know how i like them. thanks for the suggestions though!

yeah i googled them but i saw three different kinds but those look good i think i am going to go back to dunlop on my r1 i mean the pilots are good, but man it seems like it can rain at any min. now adays and i need something for rain also!
