the trans is mounted like a rwd car, with it coming off the back of the engine and down the trans tunnel... its a $300-$400 job if you were to take it to a shop but if you're mechanically inclined i'm sure you can do it yourself... it'll probably take a full day if its your first time doing it.

A clutch job from us costs $375 + parts. We do about 2-3 a week here.

I woudnt recomend doing it on the ground. It doesnt leave you much room to get it in. All you really need is a 10mm 12mm and a 14mm and some patience really lol. Make sure the clutch comes with the alignment tool and dont just throw a disc in do the whole thing at once as a whole assembly. You really arent going to want to go in there a few more times for the TB or flywheel. Being that its just a regular N/A subaru you dont need any special parts, dont totally cheap out but its still okay to be frugal. All together shouldnt be much more than 250-300 with everything.

its not comfortable on the ground, but its not hard at all. Youll want the car up very high though. you need room for the trans to drop and be moved out of hte way.
