it wil deffinately suck. what you could do is take it all apart(head off, im off, oil pan off, etc. And try to strap it to a skid and ship it that way, my dad did that with a motorcycle once. idk though.

so it doesnt break or fall aprat. plus the smaller a package is the less money to ship

Yea but if the buyer pays shipping, who cares

Brian, any company that does crate shipping can package it for you

I have shipped numerous motors through UPS. I get some wood and make a bottom and finding bolting points to the motor and bottom part. Then build a box around it with the wood incase your mounting points break so the motor is still encased.

Also note that if ups sees any oil of fluid they will NOT ship it. I usually tell them it is not a motor and something else. Some places don't care but the place near collegeville are pricks.

Ive always had issues with UPS, is there places that pick it up? The motor is on a home made crate, ill have to build it up a little.

ive shipped a few, dont take it apart, i shipped mine in tact with the trans...these were 4g63T motors too...prob heavier then the motor your trying to ship.....i know your not local to me but i used a place in west chester....strap it to a pallet securely and wrap it in the clear plastic crap.....i had to take it to them and drop it off, theyd take it out of the truck with a skid loader and put it in a trailer.....cost me roughly 175 at the time (like 3-4 yrs ago)....im sure its more now bc of gas and all that crap

I ship/recieve motors all the time. Probably 5 or 6 a month. It's VERY easy.

1. Get a good pallet
2. Strap motor to said pallet
3. Wrap the entire thing in plastic wrap. ALOT OF IT!
4. Call YELLOW FREIGHT and tell them to come pick it up.
5. Buyer pays for it when they pick it up.

EASY
