Yesh insurance should cover it. *weeps a little* doesn't change the fact that I am stuck at work and have to worry about my car out there when I know I have a garage at home that its safe in

No worries here... All the damage it does just justifies me buying a new shell...

There currently aren't any severe thunderstorm warnings for our area, and the radar looks pretty clear for eastern PA at the moment, so I wouldn't worry about it. National Weather Service issued a message saying there is a possibility for severe weather in our area, but they haven't even issued a severe storm watch area.

At least you guys have steel (or fabric for convertibles) roofs and hoods...

I saw it on channel 120 for our area it said severe t-storms/large hail warning in effect til tonight before I was about to walk out the door, so I threw a thread up for common courtesy. Sarcasm appreciated.

Not sure if you are referring to me, but I'm sorry if I sounded sarcastic; I didn't mean to be. I was just clarifying; news anchors mix up watches and warnings all the time. A "warning" from the National Weather Service means that the threat is imminent, as in, the storm is already showing up on radar so run and hide! "Watches" means that there is a possibility severe weather will develop in the given time frame.

nah.. not you. no big. whether it was a watch or warning, it was all over the weather channel on tv and on the website. clear skies here now, so whatever.. I guess it blew over?

From what I saw on the news during dinner, there's some storms rolling in from Virginia and Pittsburgh that could carry hail.

Yea, they are still calling for storms later too.

somebody implied that insurance covers it so its not a big deal, and ur right. but last years storm straight up ruined my entire car and tho the ins is happy to pay for it, u are still liable for ur deductible....and my deductible was more than i could afford for that particular moment. work had been slow and i just didnt have the extra $. the damage was, i think , about 3 grand in PDR....and for PDr thats a lot of work to run a 3k bill....so for ppl who hear hail and freak out, its for a just reason, i understand their fears.....

(and STi/WRX hoods are aluminium too:thumbup:)

as are the hoods on rx8s....and the rear doors....and i judging by the roof, i think thats also aluminum...

point being, hail sux......i hope u guys didnt get hail, did the storm pass yet?

I was driving back from my GFs house not realizing the roads were slick and I go around a turn and before I know it I am sideways sliding into the road with 1/4 throttle because the road was so slick... At least I got to have some fun before I got back home...

yeah man, I was tempted to go out in the deuce to slide around a little, but then I remembered that I'm being good and saving parts on my car and not breaking them lol

I got a pleasant surprise on the way home that I broke loose in fourth on the highway  After I hit a bump. I like RWD but goddamn, when third gear breaks loose in the rain at will, I dunno... AWD seems kinda nice...

DPancoast

haha yeah, I have that issue as well. If it's SUPER wet out on the highway, my car will walk no matter what suspension or tires I have in quick successive bumps.

Yay, no hail last night in Bethlehem, just really strong wind.

(and STi/WRX hoods are aluminium too:thumbup:)

Correct.

You are right about the hoods and doors. The rest of the body is steel except for plastic bumpers.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Evo (MR & RS) is the only production vehicle with an aluminum roof. I know the M3 has a carbon fiber roof, freakin sweet!

You wouldn't think various Ferrari's/Exotics have aluminum roofs?

I think that most exotics would have carbon fiber roofs. Maybe some convertible hard tops are aluminum, but I'm talking about non-convertibles.

Sorry I brought this thread off topic, but considering the section it's in, I guess thats ok, lol.
