Im looking into getting a bike [if the dub sells].
Im not going to get a big bike, as it'll be my first bike, and Im generally a small guy. Im looking into something around the 300 range, 1. bc i never have owned a bike, only drove dirt bikes and such. , and want to stay around 3k. I wouldn't mind an older bike either.
Whats some things I should know?

ok well before you sell your dub and get into a bike the first think i would tell you is get your permit and as soon as you get your permit sign up for the class. its free and they give you a motorcycle to ride and learn on. once you take that class you feel how you do on a bike and then you can go from there. as for your price range the new ninja 250 is a nice looking bike for sure i would lean on getting that if you want but there is nothing wrong with starting off on a bike with good power and that you will not get tired of which would be the zx6. or you can buy my FZR1000 ;)

the new 250's really seem to be a good bike.
they look good and are just over 3K brand new, no worries.
but when buyign really look at the bike well for signs of a previous crash etc...
i boguth an r6 that looked amazing btu when i pulled the fairings off to fix something i was devastated about what i found.

the ninja 500 is not as pretty as the ninja 250 if you want a 500 might as well jump on the 600 and be happy with it for years to come, then again you can buy my fzr 1000 :D

I say go get a used 600...because once you get comfortable on the 250, you wont be able to keep up with anybody when you go out riding.

I can't stop looking at the new 08 r6. it's such a beautiful bike in all black. I think once I get my new job I may just get one to start with. I know for a fact if I bought a new 250R I would want something faster very soon after.

get a 600, do it through a personal loan or buy it cash if possible. Then just put basic coverage on it, because its dirt cheap. I pay $14 a month with the bike in my name

Well im looking at a used 500. Id most likely get a loan, and then I couldn't have basic coverage. And unfortunately I have a few points :(

Wrong.
Get a *personal loan* and then it doesn't if you have basic. You will get your title for the bike right away also. I know through my bank, fulton bank, I could've taken out $10,000 maximum for 10 years if i really wanted.

It'd be a good start lol. You can get a really nice used 600 for right around $5000
