STFU Bill!
ahahah just kidding! That's a shame. Looks like two people were either killed or injured. I never liked those huge cranes. They never look stable.

That one that just happened in NYC was a residential construction project. Most likely non union. 90% of residential construction in NYC is non union. 90% of commercial construction IS union.
The diference between a union and non-union construction job in regards to safety is like NIGHT AND DAY. THose non union workers are considered throw-aways's. Noone cares about their safety. It really sucks.

not neccesarily true. i work non-union demo and there will union guys on jobs that will treat you as if you are in the union on certain jobs, regarding safety. the only difference is if you land a job that the union thinks they should of had and the assholes come out protesting like little girls. hell, if you land a govnt job you'll even get payed union wages witht he benis' which is pretty good.
how about the thackray (local union crane rental) operator who was on his cell phone while running the crane and knocked the guy off a building obviously killing him. now thats a shame
