I have been following the auction. Its so hard to believe but those cars are out there. Its ashame its not a gsx but really it doesn't matter because i don't know what anyone would do with the car except let it sit stored away.

That's insane.

What would make someone store a GST away?

Just doesn't seem like it would be my first priority of cars to "seal away."

Thats really strange - I mean who stores a GST for 9 years - its not like its a supra or something crazy - maybe they bought it expecting it to become more than what it is? Weird!

who stores a gst for nearly a decade? i mean its a stretch to store a gsx. something isnt right here. btw i see used 03 evos (higher mileage) going for that price range

maybe he knew about "fast and the furious" 2 yrs in advance? one man's junk is another's treasure. It's pretty rare to see one stock now-a-days and in that condition. How much did they sell for new?

all the fluids need to be flushed and replaced, all the belts need to be replaces, etc etc. Not worth it imo. If it was a 99 NSX I could see it going for a lot but not a DSM

KBB value of 7950

Its not really that special a car that it will hold value that well, I dont know why people dont realize that. Its like the one kid that wanted 8000 for his 240sx just cause it had 34k miles IIRC. People overhype things, and its even worse that there are people stupid enough to pay that much.

Like Mpowerkai said, NSX yes, eclipse, no!

edit: I wouldnt even pay that much considering I dont even like the car

A hardcore DSMer would buy that car after looking it over from top to bottom.

I see what your saying but I still believe it's worth around 10K! I would buy it for a beater and drive that thing for years with just boltons.

haha, you're really passionate about this car being overpriced, huh?

It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. I think it's kind of weird, especially a GS-T, but these cars do have a huge following.

I doubt the person even knows what it's really worth, hence putting it on Ebay. Stick it on and see what kind of bids you get and then set your price from there. I think 10-15k is reasonable. It's clean and one of a kind. I'm sure there is someone out there with plenty of expendable income who used to have an eclipse and would love a clean replacement.

hahahahahahaha. you really think that kbb price is fair for that. you do realize that these cars bring WELL over what kbb prices are, no matter what. people pay 7-10k for 99 GST/GSX's all day long. so please dont try to say that the car is only worth 8k. thats just ignorant.

the owner stands to lose a large amount of money that car.
btw 9years of storage, maint and large deprecatiation rate.

To me, its fair. Clearly someone is willing to pay twice that already, as the auction shows, why I will never understand.

I just dont understand why someone would keep a car like this locked away for so long and then expect big money for it, its not a classic, or exotic, and it really dosnt have that much history behind it.

maybe they didnt keep it to sell down the road, maybe a family member bought it and passed, so the family kept it for sentimental reasons, or a similar circumstance.

DSM's are a huge percentage of popular sport compact cars and have been since they arrived even to this day. With a large fan base you will find someone with a lot of money that will buy a mint one, you see that **** everyday with CLASSIC cars.
