Body looks in good shape, sounds like an amazing deal.
My neighbor at my new place is an older man w/ an NA 3000GT (later model w/ fixed lights). Same color, 31k original miles. The thing is MINT.

did you test for leaks (intake, etc)? If I didn't have my eye on another car, I'd have taken this off your hands already. This is a pretty damn good deal. Although, I'd seriously consider at least looking into fixing it, so you don't lose out on $3-4k. :) Because I know of a few people who would seriously consider buying that car, fixed up in the 5k price range
Good luck either way :)

Are you kidding? I am in no way connected to this, but we're not talking a lot of money for a twin-turbo vehicle in good cosmetic shape. For the right person, this is a steal.

wow... my last vr4 was $750 with less issues. and less mileage. they are a TON!! of money to fix. fixing the cam seals is gonna be around $1500 plus the crap you need when taking it apart. you have no idea what the labor is on them. parts are very hard to get also. id prob be a buyer at 1000.
questions.. does the aero kit work? do you have the factory rims? any pics of the actual leather interior? stock radio laying around? aws still work? these are known for rod knocks.. any sounds at all? did it have the tcase replaced? the facotyr had a recall on them. how are the turbos? stock psi? ever messed with? and the biggest thing.. does it run and will make the trip to downingtown pa?

Most people who would buy this car would fix it themselves, it's not that hard.
1,500 it will be gone in no time, I sold my old VR4 with a spun bearing for $2,500-- Hell, parts in there alone are worth quite a bit more than his asking price.
kevin@dambrosio
05-30-2008, 01:39 AM
well the post is a week old already. I pmd him an offer so we will see. Im just saying that not everyone knows how to work on them and the people who do know them know what it takes to get them running right. lol what yeat was yours? my 92 spun at 170,000. I have a 97 VR4 that runs but knocking. been looking for a motor for almost a year now.
3000gtvr4tt
05-30-2008, 01:21 PM
okkkk sooo first of all im not going any lower than $1,500 I don't know what was replaced on the car before I bought it. I know when I had it I put a new ECU in it and new coil pack, plugs & wires, the whole tune up, it ran fine before this happened besides for the oil leak. The transmission was perfectly fine no issues with that at all and boost was set at stock always. Tires are all fairly brand new. Dont have stock anything laying around besides the valve cover which is ready to get powder coated if anyone is interested in that. The car really needs to go to someone who can work on the car themselves and im not too technically inclined to do it so im selling it.

Complete bull****.. this car isnt expensive to fix if you know what your doing and you can do it yourself the parts are high but what do you expect on a TT AWD car. your whining about a 92 vr4 for 1500:lol:
if i didnt just buy another car i would have had this days ago..
DONT SELL FOR LESS THEN 1500!!!!! no matter what people say

Dude, I couldn't agree more. $1500 is a definite steal for this thing, especially for some pretty easy fixes. If I wasn't still stuck in Florida, I would have grabbed it the day he listed it. Chances are the Idle problem is just a bad/stuck ISC as you also pointed out (I PM'ed him and suggested the ISC like a week before he listed it), and if someone is concerned about the recalls having been addressed, they can just get the VIN, call a Mitsu dealer and find out which recall services have or have not been performed.
kevin@dambrosio, If you're having that hard of a time finding an engine search 3SI, or any of the different chapter sites, theres always someone parting out a 3S, and selling parts pretty cheap.
Regardless, whoever ends up getting this car is going to get a really good deal. Good luck, guys.

i was under the impression the car ran just poorly, if thr above statement is true, i bought a non running vr4 when i was 17 and put approx 2400 into it just to get it running. good luck with this sale, unfortunatley it will be very hard to sell unless you have a real enthuiast.

I'm REALLY surprised this hasn't sold. That's a steal for someone who is even slightly mechanically inclined.
You can sell the transmission for close to the asking price, alone. Like the guy above me said, try 3si. they'll eat this up in a heart beat. Or craigslist. It'll be gone in days.

god this makes me so sick to my stomach... I sold my '92 VR-4 3 months before I moved to FL and just before moving i swapped the Miata I had for a G60 Corrado... Was tempted to sell and buy another 3/S and now this.... UGH... GL With the sale and if you were closer to WV I'd have gladly given you $1500 no questions asked. You have this on 3Si.org don't you? any interest at all in trading for a 91 galant vr-4. . .EIII 16g, 550's, dsmlink (with cash on your side)?
I'm tempted to increase my debt at this point and pick this up because I miss my old base 3000gt and a vr-4 is like 300 times better, even if it needs work.
either way, free bump. . .
