So i finally picked up a catless midpipe for my MSP. The midpipe has two bungs, one for the o2 sensor located after the flex section and the second which is unused and filled with a filler nut thing. I installed it tonight and on the way home from a friends house, the filler nut for the second bung fell out and now my car sounds like **** because of the second hole being open.

here's a picture of the midpipe and the filler nut in the bung:

where can i get a replacement filler nut?! i can't stand to drive the car when it sounds like this :-(

Next time use Loctite and torque it down.

It will prolly be the same thread pitch and diameter as the O2 sensor.
Go to a hardware store and get a short bolt.

I've previously used oil drain plugs found at autozone. Perfect length.

i can't believe how much better the car runs with this new pipe. it pulls way harder and sounds a million times better. i'm upset i dyno'd without it

I was amazed myself when I threw mine on. Any leakage issues? Which midpipe is it, is it 2.5", 3"?

Anyone who is jealous of his mazdaspeed should contact me if they are interested in buying a real nice 03.5 titanium grey one. Justin has seen it and can vouch for it.:)

Glad to hear the cars running good Justin, whats the next plan for it?

Are you talking about the one that's for sale in Burlington, NJ?

And opening up the exhaust on the MSP -- it's really amazing what a difference it makes! The stock one just chokes the poor car to death, I don't know WTF Mazda was thinking when they designed it.

it's the 2.5" which would make my exhaust 2.5" all the way out, and you wouldn't believe how nice the exhaust sounds with just the greddy resonator without the muffler or cats! i used a new gasket between the new j-pipe/mid connection and i have no leaks or weird sounds anymore. i'm stoked.
