This is my first post with this username, i was a member back in the day but could not remember my username or email i used so i created a new one.

Theres going to be an autocross on Sunday, June 1st in Warminster, PA which is like 10 minutes away from northeast Philly. You can have a stock car to race or a car with mods, it doesn't matter.

Registration if your not a SCCA member is $30 + $15 for a weekend membership. So not being a member pretty much costs $45. The good thing is that you can use those $15 towards your actual membership if you decide to join after the event. To become and actual member it costs $80.

Warminster is a nice open field, i believe the place was an airstrip a while ago but is now a closed park which the region uses for us to participate. I've been there before and it is fun.

Im making this post to invite some of you people to come out and have fun.

Yes, you can register day of, but I believe they'll only take cash (no checks or cc). If you prereg, you pay be cc. I'll be up for the event. Warminster courses are usually fun and fast, so come out and have a good time!

I'll be at the WDCR event on the 1st, but hopefully I can make the Holbert Memorial in August. Unfortunately, Philly scheduled all their events on the same day as WDCR events. An hour to Fed Ex Field, or 2 hours to Warminster. Hmmm...you know what I'm choosing.

I missed two for that. Well, two with the motor out at the shop, then I did a weekend reassembly and drove the crap out of it for a week to make the last event. Kept the boost low since it was raining. By next weekend, I should have it back up to 15-18psi

You sir, are a fool. To be lucky enough to have that many events that close to your home, there should be very little reason for missing them.

I could have been lucky to be in the same situation, but right after I moved to Aberdeen they stopped allowing us to run there.

My tired are almost done and if I did this I'm sure driving home on bald tires isn't a great idea.

I'll have to back out on this one since the holiday ate up a day of work... But if this goes late enough I could possibly swing by to watch the end haha...

Either way, I'll be out in July pending there's an event between June 28 and July 6th haha... My work closes :)

I probably won't make this one. Coming back from Jersey around 1am that morning, and Warminster is an hour and a half from me, and GS runs first heat. Grr.

Plus the integra is falling apart at the moment, caught between moving expenses and first paycheck at a new job :( Not even sure if it would pass the Warminster noise restrictions, because the stock muffler's internals gave out last week.

Roto
05-31-2008, 02:55 PM
Registration is closed online. You'll still be able to walk-up and register until the cap is met. The difference between the 8am and 11pm is that there are 4 heats. You need to find out which class you're in and that will determine which session is right for you. If you can't wake up early you can always say you will run NC (non-comp) and show up for the later one, but you still have to run one heat and work the other one.

One of the known problems with the e36 bmws is their cooling systems, they are a weak point in the car. they recommend every 75k replace everything. i have 110k on my car and i was running on hopes and dreams.

the neck on the radiator broke and blew off. rendering the car and rad useless.

Im not as pissed that it happened more irritated that the course workers allowed the car to continue to run even when a visible trail of fluid was pouring out of the car. they should have red flagged my codriver and stopped the car, instead of letting it finish the course, spilling fluid all over the course and putting everyone in danger.

You pulled a nice run out at the end, Sean. That car is looking and sounding good this year! I'm working to rebalance after putting the bigger tires and front struts on, so hopefully I'll give you a better run for the money. This was my first event with the setup in the dry (ran boeing in the rain a few weeks ago) and it was understeering. I dialed a little of it out in some afternoon non-comp runs... got that 54.4 down to a few 53.6s, but still some work to do. This should be a fun season (will you be at all the warminster events?).

You need to turn in sooner... a lot sooner. You should be trying to hit the last cone in those offsets with your back tire. Be angry at those cones... try to run them over!

The owner of that Solstice is a former MR2 Spyder owner. Anyone running at Warminster a few years ago may have seen him kicking ass and taking names with a turbo Spyder.
Next time out I am going to try to get him to take me for a spin in my own car at the end of the day. Really show me how you are supposed to drive one of these things. =)

I try- maybe I could get you to ride with me next time I'm out. I held to much speed my first run coming back from the turn around... through the last set of offsets I put the ass end out front and I think that caused me to hesitate the next 3...

It's sad- last year I drove with a guy named Rob from NNJR in his zx2. We then went out in my car and I shaved almost 1.5secs off my time and I was like a sec behind him (which made me happy). That was the last T&T of 2007, and as much as it stuck in my head over the winter- I can't bring myself back up to that speed- RAWR!

As for the solstice... Dave Heinig is an animal. That's all I can say

O I know Dave is fast, and have come to accept it :) And it's great! I love hearing Rob complain about him, and threatening to kick him out of his GXP and back to BSP!

O O O - to make myself feel better I keep on saying my shatty kuhmo/hankook tire setup need to be replaced. And that in itself, I think holds me back quite a bit from pushing to the limits. Well it makes me feel better, maybe!

Also I saw this earlier in the thread, but convertibles do not have to have a roll cage in stock class, or in STS2. But in SM2, SP*, and Prepared classes I think they do. Just double check the rulebook at www.scca.com and you'll find the answer.

I didn't think the car had it in it...I dropped pressure my last run and it seemed to help some in the front. I still have a lot of driver issues to work out as well. The motor feels good but I was a little hesitant on the throttle coming out of the zig zag in the beginning and the chicago boxes at the end. My new turbo is a laggier than my previous stock 28 but it seems to be helping me control traction on the 255s.

Those wide tires will do you good once you get dialed in. 53.6 is nice but I know you had it in you for a 52 something seeing Mike was at 51.

I'll be at (hopefully) the rest of the Philly events and I want to try to make a few SJ events too.

Let me guess it was the upper hose? My brother had this issue on his 535i, luckily his pipe broke off and he started to smell coolant and pulled over on time. Didn't blow the HG, which are easy to blow I hear.

Anyways, I should come out to the next one to be a spectator.

Yup where the upper rad hose connects to the radiator, the neck itself broke off. Car didnt over heat just poured coolant all over the track. its home right now up on stands and awaiting time to pull everything out and order a whole new cooling system.

I was hoping to get into the 52's as well, but the nut behind the wheel was a little loose. I think getting a better balance to the car and a lot of seat time can help me knock a few ticks off the clock. I can only see you and the s14 getting faster, so I'm just trying to keep up!
