That would be great bryan.
edit- Will you be around tonight so i can pick it up? i can meet you at your work if needed? (maybe the pulley as well?)
As far as the kit i want to order. it's the Tiffen 77mm DV Select Filter Kit 3 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/490936-REG/Tiffen_77DVSK3_77mm_DV_Select_Filter.html)
And the "Cheapo" one i was looking at is: Tiffen 77mm Circular Polarizing Glass Filter (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/56637-REG/Tiffen_77CP_77mm_Circular_Polarizing_Glass.html)

i'll be home after 8 which is where the filter and they pulley are...
i'm pretty sure i have that tiffen filter, or it might be a hoya, not sure.
i'm interested to see what you think of the graduated nd and how useful it is for you. i've thought about picking one up but i feel like a cokin filter system might be more useful (although also more expensive and not as compact for all around use).

Ok great. if you can, call me when you get home and I can meet you there.
yea i'm siked about getting these. I actually found a place that will get them to me by mid week next week. And for less then what B&H was selling them for.

Yea get back to us how that ND filter works. I've been looking at a few filter systems lately. Oh and that "kit" you linked to, the price is the same amount or close to to the amount I paid for my 77mm C-PL filter. :(

x2... I have a cheap 20$ kit and it works perfectly. I dont know how someone could justify spending almost 200bucks on the same thing.

Those Tiffen kits aren't worth the money. My brother bought a set and I wasn't impressed with the quality of the filter itself and the image quality from the images. The aluminum ring isn't sturdy like the brass used on B+W and Hoya. Most are not coated, so expect additional flare and lack-of-contrast with the uncoated filter on your lens.
Save up and get a B+W & Hoya. There is a reason why they cost 2-3x as much.

Cheap filters are more likely to seize on your lens. Not a fun job in removing a seized filter.
I don't have it bookmarked, but there is a website that did extensive controlled testing on several brands to show the difference.

well i'll see how they do. i figure they are mid range quality, i'm not expecting it to delivery the quality of a $200 filter. but i never shot owned or used any filters before, so i want to get my feet wet with a variety before diving in on particulars. if they end up to be crappy they'll be in the classifieds :)

Yeah, for what it's worth, I have the B+W 77mm CPL and its amazing. I have used my fair share of Tiffen, Sunpak, Quantaray, Promaster, etc, and none of them come close. Every time I used one of those, I noticed a significant loss in image quality, particularly sharpness and color rendition. Granted, they were on the front of L glass, which without any filter looks very good, so I am used to having good quality. The B+W is really top-notch though. I also have a B+W UV filter on all my lenses for protection. Again, if you're putting it between the subject and the lens, spend the money for high quality glass. Otherwise it's like shooting through a car window.

Well I may be canceling my order. It's been just about a week and tiffen hasn't even shipped the filter set to the retailer. I'm looking at some B&W filters to replace the kit.
Oh and Bryan, I will drop it off tonight, it was pouring last night on my way home, and didn't want to leave it in the rain.

all the tests i've ever seen on filters cant discern a difference at all, even when analyzed closer than the human eye could ever tell. you're talking about a single piece of flat glass thats maybe 1/32" thick. its not the same as comparing lenses which have up to 10 or more glass elements inside, some of which can be 1/8" or 1/4" thick each and are concave/convex to bend light and have to deal with many other issues.
i've got to guess that the differences you 'see' are just a placebo effect...

Well i am told that they will ship them direct to me so I'm holding out and going to see what happens.

just to re-cap. i got the filters last Friday. The build quality isn't so bad. The glass it self seems pretty darn good. I haven't noticed a loss of sharpness. I did a bunch of test shots on the same object to gauge what each filter looked like in comparison. i will post them up once i download them and re-size them. All in all I'm happy with them, and as long as I am patient with them i don't think i'll have a seizing issue. I like the combo of the Black promist and the circ polarizer. The neutral density easily gave you another stop, but I haven't really spent much time with it.
