Alright, I've been helping Amit take the old engine out of his car (MR2) and so far things have been ok with hand tools. But with only axles to pull and engine mounts to disconnect, I need more power. Rusted bolts and my little arms just don't work out... even with a breaker bar.

So with that said, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to either let us borrow (or rent??) some air tools for like a day at the most. Just to get the old engine out. Putting the new in could be done with hand tools, so that's not really an issue.

The car is in Souderton, PA and the best day would probably be Friday if I had to pick. If anyone is willing to help, let me know. We would need an air compressor and said tools for probably no more than a full day. It's very close to being out as it is, I just need the upper hand to get it over with.

I could borrow my dads air compressor hopefully. I mostly need metric sockets and possibly a punch to push axles out of the hubs. very basic bolts, they are just too tight for me and some are rust welded..but still good enough that I know they'll come off with an air gun.

another option would be an electric or cordless impact gun... much more portable and if you get ahold of a decent one they can be very powerful. you might even be able to rent one from a tool shop for a day if you need to.

most auto stores rent you stuff for next to nothing

I have mass amounts of tools if you need stuff, I have a 1in impact gun complete with telescoping support rod if those bolts give you to much trouble :) theyll either back the axle nuts off or just snap the end of the axles either way them bitches will come out

slipping a pipe over a breaker bar didn't work?

I used all I had with a long breaker bar and a pipe, it's just gay. It needs quick motion to un-lodge some of the bolts. But yeah the electric impact gun sounds like a good idea.....i'll have to check into it.

also try an oxy-acetylene torch and heat the balls out of it!

We now have electricity at the location I'm keeping my car so an electric impact gun would be good too I think...right Dan??
