i went to maple grove with my 240... got the crappiest run in, then my clutch broke when i missshifted 3rd into 2nd and almost blew the motor up lol
the mess up happened around 1000 foot i guess. trust me i was not happy with myself. my launch sucked to begin with, and then i just sealed the deal with the misshift

right now its up on jackstands with the trans off. the flywheel is totally loose, im just hoping the motor wasnt damaged

if the motor is ok, and the new trans and clutch components i put it work out, im going to weld up the peg leg diff, and go back with a little bit more boost (hopefully this friday)

If you went to Maple this past friday night that sucks. I heard the traction wasn't good at all. So maybe it's not all you.

Looks like a low 15 high 14.

Here's my 14.1 pass from late 2006.

You can compare the split times fairly well since my 60s were about the same as yours.

yea ive been having problems with the bolts getting loose for a while now. last time i put em in, i used threadlock and they lasted a long time, up until i messed up at the strip. i might be putting on my friends spare flywheel as well, just to see if it changes anything

13.8 or 13.9 with a good 60'. Going to need more MPH for mids.

To the OP just use one of those generic 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile calculators, it's about as accurate as one of us giving you an imaginary number. GL with the fix though.

damn dude..that thing sounds like ****..the only thing i can think of is get another KA-E..and put ur turbo parts on it..people usually give those motors away anyways...or maybe even go KA24DET

yea idk. this motor only has 75k miles on it. putting another one in is a bitch. especially outfront of my house... the cars a rust bucket, not worth a nice motor. the motor was basically the only good thing about the car, now its junk. i think im just going to work on the s12 and let the s13 sit for a while. i dont know how to build a motor, or else id be pulling it out to rebuild it. there was an AMS rebuild kit on craigslist for 1300 (worth 1600) but now that i could use it, its gone.

does anyone want an s13 with fresh inspection?

Trap speeds don't lie, the car definitely could have gotten into the mid 13s. FWD and street tires, I was spinning all the way through 1-2.

Sucks to hear about the engine man.

the pressure plate i had in it was tweaked from the getgo. ive had a real weak clutch the whole time this cars been together. so shifting hasnt exactly been easy. and yea youd think it would be hard to get into 2nd from the top of 3rd, but leave it to a nissan... my friend said hes done it lots of times with his 200sx. i actually have never done it before, but i guess being at the dragstrip made me nervous or something

i still say sell it and cut your loss... get a new shell and build a car for next year

uh oh whats up RICH haha

i pulled the head off... head is in good working order, exhaust valves on cyl 1 and 2 hit pistons a little bit, nothing serious there. pistons and cylinders look good (except for the 2 valve marks)
the prob is def in the bottom end somewhere. when i crank the motor over, pistons go up and down like they are supposed to, but you can feel some rough spots while cranking. i dont have my cherry picker at my house right now, so i havent pulled the pan yet.

EDIT: i found out the headgasket is supposed to be like that... haha
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y140/frosti108/ka1.jpg

so anyway, i have the original motor from the car with about 190k miles. it had a blown timing chain when i bought the car. but i think the bottom end should be cool. im thinking about usuing that motor with my 75k mile head and 1.5k mile timing set. its not set in stone yet, so well see. i may just get a 300 dollar rebuild kit from ebay and try that out.

either way, i think im going to fix the car and get my 13s out of it

i could tell from that horrible sound it was the bottom end right away... sounds pretty rough
