I hope this is the right place for it, im just wondering if its possible to "lock" a computer program to the screen? My old laptop ( 3years old) backlight went out awhile ago and I have an extra monitor I can hook up to it so it will work like a desktop. What Id like to do is lock Itunes onto the screen somehow (password protect it maybe) so it cannot be close and run it like a music database so i can hook it up to a radio to run music. So basically it would I guess be a fancy Ipod haha.
So is that in anyway possible?

idk about "locking" it persay, but you can lock the whole laptop by hitting Windows key+L. All the programs will still run in the background, but you would need to log back into the computer as a whole to do anything with it.

yeah I dont think it would be much of a problem of messing with an old laptop, just wanted something so it wouldnt be accidentally exited out of ya know. I think it would just be kinda neat to have

Are you looking to run both the laptop screen AND the external monitor at the same time or just the external monitor?

just the monitor, since the screens back light broke, the screen cannot be seen, its so dark id have to put a spotlight on it to remotely use it. Just wanted it so Itunes couldnt be closed thats all

I would just say to run the monitor from the laptop, open iTunes and smack anyone that tries to close it down.

So you want to start the laptop and have itunes pop up and nothing else.
Its possible but might be a little tricky. Fist you want to create a guest login in your windows/xp/vista. Then log into that and put a link to itunes into your start up menu. Then look around the account preferences... you should have some options to restrict the type of things the guess account can do (like run other apps).

Windows button + D, brings you back to the desktop.
Atl+ Tab - Change the current window open
I know a few others, but these are the ones I usually use.

If you want a screen locker with password protection, you can search for something called matrix screen locker. I use it on my computer to keep my roommates off it, can't alt-crtl-del it either. And i use keyboard shortcuts for winamp when im playing music.
