I need to do this today, Has anyone else attempted it? I see the section, and searched, just curious if anyone has any success stories with it.

how do you mean? Are you talking about viewing your online stuff via the pc? of connecting the xbox to the pc itself?

If it was the latter, I tried... and failed. I have XP media, but apparently not the 05 edition which is the only supported XP Media edition that also needs a certain update, which i can't download b/c I don't have 05 XP Media...

i want to play online over my pc, instead of having my xbox connected to my router, im reading that i can have it connect to my pc. so i can kill people and race cats.

EDIT: except i connect my pc wirelessly to a modem in another room.

i feel skilled enough to do it, just curious if anyone has done it personally :)

there doesn't seem to be any benefit to doing this?

I can see one, if your pc uses a wireless router.

id rather not spend 100 dollars on a wireless adapter when my PC is already wireless.

i dont want to run a cord into the back of my wirless router in the other room.

haha I was thinking the same thing as to why would you do this but as you stated thats a perfect example of it. I haven't done it personally but everything should be very simple to do.

it was very easy to do. i just plugged my xbox into my ethernet port, opened up my network settings, selected "share this connection" and bam. what a easy job.

I do it now, its actually just as good of a connection as wired in terms of it being stable. But I go into a wireless print server/bridge instead of into my desktop.

I am going to try this tonight. I can not get Xbox Live at my house because I do not have an acutal internet connection, I just pick up on Wi-Fi broadcasted by the city of Bethlehem. If this works, I should be able to pick up the signal with my laptop and then go onto Xbox Live... hopefully.

Its hit or miss for some people. I tried to do it on my system by setting up a bridge connection on the pc (you might have to do this to get openNAT), but whatever I did, the 360 would always fail to authenticate to the xbox servers.
In the end I ended up buying a used gamging bridge for 10bucks that has worked perfectly for me.

Great!

I have a full signal when I put my laptop by the window so I never have any problems connecting or playing.

Its kinda tough to gauge the ul/dl speeds on live, since there isnt really a speed test or anything like that, but with my setup, its just as good as my desktop running on wireless as well (and my desktop and router are both 802.11n)
