Good for traction, but I still think they look good tucked up inside the wheel wells.

Still a nice ride though.

That my great grandfather died in it...but it was his fault cause he fell out of the tower.

Way to go OT!

I still want those front tires.

(and I'm only kidding about the first part. Don't be offended!)

the 2.3 is such a pathetic motor. I helped my friend get a 90 fox body hatch with the 2.3 auto and open diff. that thing was pathetic. the motor is rated at 85, the same as my single cam saturn, which is way lighter and fwd so less loss to drivetrain.

I stomp on the go pedal and it asks me why. but she got it for only a few hundred and her cousin is thinking about giving her his old 5.0 blown motor when he replaces it with a race prepped motor or something. I dunno the details theeyre still fuzzzy.

in review the 2.3 sucks and those are some beefy rears

What generation Turd? (just gimme a year)

And auto or stick? I can almost garuntee you that there's less drivetrain loss through that fords drivetrain than through a saturns.

'92 SL1 - daily beater
'86 RX-7 base 'luxury' - daily drifter
'I <3 unique cars that burn oil'

Ive got a standard in both my cars.
Yeah I was talking out of my ass a tiny bit about drivetrain losses (since ive never dynoed either, nor plan on it), but having driven and beaten on both and the ±2300lb* bench weight for my 1st gen being pulled by 85hp* and 107lbft*, vs the ±2800lb* weight being pushed by 86hp* and 138lbft* in the fox body I tend to lean towards my SOHC.

Ive also helped her work on the motor, and it just seems like a lump they put in there to keep it the cheap man's sports car. 2 plugs per cylinder in a 2.3 british engineered motor, I would expect more, power or economy. but hey what do I know its not a spinning triangle

not like Im really too concerned which will win in a race, since neither are really fast by any means. My satty is my daily driver econobox that saves me gas money while im going to buy parts for my mazda, and is damn fun to yank the E in the snow :supz:

now lets get back to talking about mustangs that matter like my buddy's '92 hatch that he supercharged to low-mid 13's on **** tires and my fat ass riding shotgun. if he had those hoosiers he couldve minimized his wheel spin in 1st and 2nd, and gained more traction so all of his ponies couldve pushed him lower.

Yeah, hte power to weight is decent, but the 1g SOHC makes 85hp at the crank, and suffers HUGE drivetrain losses, so in actuality, it puts something like 55-60 to the ground.

The torque at such a low RPM is what actually lets that car move.

Is it the red or the blue parts that add all the power? I can't remember.

Do you ever have something worthwhile to say? Just about every post that's not about your car, you just sit and be abusive to everyone and waste bandwith.
