So i just bought a 2004 s60R 6 speed and it was crazy quick at first. Like with all cars I owned they start to slow down little by little. So my question is whats some good upgrades and is there anywhere local(pa) or half local that I can buy parts? Thanks

Matthew

I looked at that kit but you have send your ecu away and I was using that as a last resort. the downpipe is like $1700 so I think I might fab up my own dp and 3" exhaust.

In this order:

1) IPD Track Sways and Endlinks
2) lowering springs - H & R
3) Front Mounted Intercooler - check out swedespeed for a great kit at a great price by Phuz
4) New intake by IPD (still in development - will be released soon)
5) downpipe and exhaust
6) RICA or IPD softloader.

1, 3, and 6 are the most important but if you do all those you will have one bad ass volv

I saw in your profile you're from York. There's a ton of volvo guys there, check out volvospeed.com and turbobricks.com for more info. There will probably be a meet in the next month or so in York, it'll be posted on the volvospeed site.

personally i would stick strickly with www.evolvecars.com but with this cars everything comes with a fairly high price!!! and the 04 trans is garbage, the angle gear shreads at like 30,000 miles and the only replacement is a new trans for the cool price of around 8g's installed. basically you wanna try scoring and 05 and highier trans if possible, other than that check out spec for a clutch after you have that platform shored up now start modding.... but if you start with mods first the more power you put through the stock trans the less time your gonna have with the car on the road

Bender's got all the right info. I would go a slightly different approach with the R...mine isn't quite like this, because I said screw the suspension and went for power right away lol

1. Air Filter (Mod the stock one, or get a new one, I got K&N)

2. Suspension work - IPD Track Spec Sways are pro, springs are very optional

3. Wheels - Do yourself a favor and get some Ultraleggeras with PS2's, it is THE lightest wheel you will get for the R's screwy offset and bolt pattern

4. Power Prep - Get yourself any exhaust (custom or pre-fab) and PLEASE get a pre-fab downpipe from IPD, EST or Heico, just search Swedespeed's forums about CRACKED Evolve parts...exhausts, downpipes, AND sways...

5. More Power Prep - Go ahead and get a IPD CAI or Bell FMIC - can also search for the Phuz FMIC (or PhMIC), good deal!

6. Real Power - Grab the IPD Softloader, VivaPerformance RICA PPC, EST RICA PPC, or Heico Tuning Unit, make sure to grab Stage 2

Keep in mind, IPD is planning to release a full Stage 3 kit, either late '08 or '09 - it will include a new turbo, software, downpipe, exhaust, and probably a CAI

OMG NO this post is FULL of misinformation:

1) Evolve is a TERRIBLE company. The only thing good they produce is their exhaust everything else is GARBAGE or vaporware.
2) The angle gear has NOTHING to do with a transmission. It is part of the AWD system and when it goes you... just replace the angle gear. 1500 bucks.
3) The manual transmission is very good. The auto is fine in 04 but limited, its very good in 05 and up.

PLEASE do your research before you spread false info
