View Full Version : lowering kits
I am lookin for a new lowering kit for my bird, the old one is still decent, but i dont really like how the car sits. Ive searched on Eibach.com which redirected me to Summit.com and found a nice set of springs, but i do not want to be stuck to only Eibachs. What lowering kits do you have on your car? Im open to different companies, i do not need the highest quality and most expensive. Thanks for the advice.

What setup are you running now??
Right now I am waiting for a set of Tanabe GF210s to come in for my car. Its only a 1.5" drop but I have heard they handle good as well. If you want to SLAM your car with just switching springs, look up Tein S-Tech... They are affordable, but depending on where you shop you have to watch out for cheapie knock offs. I have heard a lot of good things about them... The S = Style Master as well. So while the spring rate should be at least higher than stock, you won't get the performance of say an Eibach kit... Just a TON more drop.
I guess it honestly depends on your cars setup because with my cat at least, too low is bad for handling and too soft can blow out stuff easily. I'm praying that my stuff (KYB GR2 struts + Tanabe Springs) will be here Friday, and then installed Saturday. If weather permits, I'll do before/after pics and test em out and post back.

I'm on Koni yellow shocks and Ground control coilovers.
They are the hotness... not exactly easy on the wallet though.

That's because they are the right way to lower a car and get better handling (in addition to coilovers).
Buying just springs and putting them on stock shocks is cheaping out. You will blow out your shocks, even though you may not know it. Generally, even KYB GR-2's are not a good idea, since they are just stock replacements (about the same valving).

i believe its just cut springs honestly. thats what it feels like. I wanted to replace the entire suspension although this is something ive never done before. As some may know, i like to try to tackle the work on my own if possible.
thanks for the advice guys, i appreciate it. ill shop around and update what i found. If anyone has some decent sites they order from, lemme know!
