Just wanted to say "whaddup" to everyone and see what's goin on in my area. Dying to get out to some local meets as the norm for me is to drive states away 4-8 times a year for big meets with the same group of friends over and over... Time to "expand my horizons".

Any "regular" things go on in Philadelphia or it's immediate vecinity that I can attend??

And yet no one has answered his question....

There is a weekly meet at Absloute Steaks in Feasterville(?)/Neshaminy(?).
There is a sticky in Upcoming Events. Usually a pretty diverse crowd.
Thursday nights around 7ish to whenever.

Welcome to the club. :partyman:

cool, I'm in So. Philly about 20-30min from NE Philly.

Hrm, I could probably make it there by 7:30 some time, considering when I get home from work...

That's if Hondas don't suck so much their not welcome.

Once you get there it will be worth it. There’s always nice cars and a good group of people (no monkey business like other places.)

…there are plenty of Hondas at the meet, don’t worry.

Cool, and I'm fine with being the only honda anyway - i go to this stuff to see DIFFERENT cars. ;)

... I just wasn't gonna waste my time if i was gonna get berrated over being a honda-boy...

There's suprisingly little Honda hate in this group, especially in comparision to the majority of car forums. Especially one putting up respectable numbers (268 whp, nice work). Welcome to the group.

i think the no honda hating stems from that fact that most, if not all, of the hondas in the club are clean and well done. ive never seen anything overly ricey attend the meets. i can deal with cars that are done up just to look nice, even better if they have some go.

esmith13
10-11-2005, 05:06 PM
well, I am a victim of vinyl. :)

This is my ride (rims are gone tho). I don't think it's ricey, but everyone is different. I get lost of good and bad comments on it, most of the bad ones come from people who think they can whoop my ass. Most get proven sorely wrong.

looks clean to me! theres a big difference between a 250+hp civic with some subtle vinyl and a 17 second stock hatch with rims, a wing, and a completely contrasting vinyl job ;) im sure you know what i mean

Whats low clearance , the tree??

esmith13
10-11-2005, 07:58 PM
at the time, the car had a 2.25" drop. I chose the sign 'cause it applied. :)
The sign itself actually was put there in referance to the covered bridge behind the car that you can't see in the picture. The clearance was under 12ft which is considered "low" I guess...

As for subtle vinyl... maybe you can't see it too well in that pic... Here's another partial angle...

Before anyone says anything... The APC tails have been replaced with OEM Type-R tails since this picture.

I don't like civics, but let me just say, it would be a decent looking car if it didn't have those graphics on the side (the rims go good with it). So take the graphics off, and I'll admit it's one of the first civics that I say that I like.

esmith13
10-11-2005, 09:26 PM
Welp, the graphics stay and the rims are already gone. Guess I can't help you out...

Yup, stock internals. All work on this car is boltons so far...

I have a k20a2 (rsx-s) shortblock sitting in my kitchen, waiting for me to afford pistons, rods, darton sleeves, etc... That'll take a year or so if i do it soley on "spare cash".

Then straight to 30psi she goes. :)

Eric,

We should head up to the next meet together. James is always inviting me and I forget.

I can help you out on the rods and pistons since your local and a ep guy... Even the darton sleeves.

Well, there is a meet in DE this saturday at 2pm for gokart racing and hanging out (EP3 meet). Their is also a NE hondas meet Sunday the 27th just on the Jersey side of the Ben Franklin Bridge in the ball park parking lot. I think that meet is referanced on this site, honda-tech and NEhondas site. I'm planning to be at both... Maybe we can talk about the motor in my kitchen... :)
