TST,

During the next 3-6 months I will be researching and looking at various options for an official The Wright Agency promo vehicle to take to events, car shows, deliver policies, and just drive around town as a form of advertising.

I thought id open this up and see what everyone thinks would make a cool vehicle for this specific use. Keep in mind it will need to be somewhat versitile, affordable, and also have a bit of a "WOW" Factor to it.

Some ideas i have are:

Scion XB, FJ Cruiser, Honda Element, Jeep (not sure which model)

Your Ideas?????

 :supz:

Solstice wouldn't be bad. But you seem to be leaning toward the SUV's.

i would pick them in the order you listed them as. that FJ would be dope though :)

get a used 2004 VW Touareg V10 TDI. They are low 30s now, convert it to run bio fuel, advertise how green your company is. Get one equipt with saddle leather, sit back and enjoy everything you could ever want in a car right at your fingertips:

Woah, some quick replies in here.

I guess i forgot to mention this, but listing WHY you pick the car you pick would be a help too - maybe you will point out something i never thought of.

Thanks!!!!! :)

Eurotrashed,

GREAT POST man. That is def something to think about - although converting that car to "bio fuel" as you say doesnt sound cheap. Do you have more info on that? PM me if you do. Also, i just sold a Cayenne so i am familiar with that platform and like it very much. Good pick.

Does that mean you are donating it to me??? Man, what a pal   :)

Well technically you can run the car right on veggy oil. I think you can convert it properly for about a grand. From what I understand you get an aux fuel tank for the bio fuel, and have a switch on the dash that you hit to go from diesel to bio when things heat up. i'll see if i can get a more detailed explination

xB cause its a big box that you can strech company vinyl on easily..the FJ is just too bulky and tuareg is a lot

Plus the xB is the most fuel efficient of the bunch, cut down on company expenses

I said the solstice because it is cheap, sporty and makes an impression because they are relatively new. Also on a personal note they are a blast to drive from event to event lol.

So far you are making the most sense...and that was actually my first pick as well. I think a white one with blue graphics would look cool. Thanks for reassuring me - although i am still VERY MUCH open to other ideas as those cars are kinda slow hahaha.

Cut me a deal on insurance and you can borrow one of mine :)

Shoot me an email and we can talk. If you become a client of mine i can certainly come up with something creative to help us both out.

im all seriousness, i say a toyota Highlander. great cars, comfortable, reasonably powerful, etc etc etc

I said the Jeep because its comfy, rides nice, big factor is its a JEEP, and plus you can get it with a hemi  not the best on gas though.

Good idea. They make a Hybrid model too i think.....

I was thinking about either the 4-door Wrangler or the "Rag Top" Liberty.

Four door wrangler FTL. I don't like the Liberty to much because a lot of the controls aren't with in easy reach, as the Jeep Grand Cherokee is. All the controls are in the center console area, and its just an over all un-comfortable ride. But thats just my $.002.

I guess the new one's aren't so bad, but the 03-04 models, are just ugly on the inside, and not that practical.

The SRT-8 is a sick car (rode in my friends the other night) but the gas mileage alone takes this one out of the running for me since my current vehicle isnt exactly a Prius :)

What do you guys think about a Chevy HHR? They are kinda retro, funky, and have plenty of space for cargo + exterior advertising. Plus, i think they are VERY affordable. Anyone have any experience with them?

You can try the new xB, its still the same box but with a 2.4L. If you arent driving it though who cares how fast it is, at least the employees will have less chances to crash it lol.

Honda Fit? Scion xD? Honda Element? If you wanna stand out, get a VW Eurovan (the newer one) but they are pretty hard to come by. Better yet, whats your budget?

Well, i will be driving it the most - as i want to use it for practical use, bad weather, and for work events that i attend. Budget....id say 30 grand range...give or take a few.

I'm not entirely sure of the available colors for the Forester Sport XT to be honest. Foresters actually have more ground clearance than a lot of SUV's (sad but true!) and are AWD, so they are great all-season cars and even kick more butt in winter.

I believe these colors were available:
Obsidian Black
World Rally Blue
Gray

I'm sure there are more colors that I'm forgetting!

Oh yeah, did I mention that the Subaru Forester was named one of the most reliable small SUV's by Consumer Reports in 2006? :-D

Jon, 30k is a pretty big budget. Just for a ballpark, im looking at our inventory at work and you can have

Audi Allroad for around 20k(great car, 2.7 bi-turbo, quattro, comfortable, classy, and practical)
BMW X3 2.5i for around 25k(roomy, comfortable, practical)
Mini Cooper(fuel efficient, fun to drive, cheap, different)

I dont know if you are trying to stick to a boxy car or what but there is lots out there for 30k

Lots of room on the side to decal up, promoting your business.

I drive both at work, and the regular HHR has nothing going for it. The SS would at least be enjoyable to drive.

I think you should go for the allroad. Its a perfect mix of great features. Stylish, lots of usable space, v6 2.7l bi-turbo or a 4.2l v8 available, they are all quattro, electronically height adjustable air ride suspension, leather interior, climate control, roof rack, 2-tone bumpers, HID lights, sunroof, power everything, more more more

Im PMing you a link to a photo gallery of a few allroads, dont mind the poor pictures.
