I currently am in the process of selling my 94 ranger after owning an aray of pickups I am trying to get away from trucks and looking to buy a car that I can do a lot with and is quick, not looking to spend to much, so my question is what would you recomend as a good first buy for a college student with not a lot of cash?
Thanks
Steve

keep the pickup.
if you don't have a lot of money to spend, or waste, don't buy a car to mod or one that is already modded.

Keep the truck. It will come in handy when you have alot of stuff to bring back and forth from your school to your house, and vice versa.

He already gave me a down payment so when he has the rest of the cash say a week or two I give him the truck. I'm looking for something maybe between 1 and 3 grand, I'm not talking anytime soon, probably by the end of the summer but I would like to start looking.

I guess this would make more sense why I'm doing this, I do plumbing and heating when I'm not in school so the ranger is my everyday truck and I also have a work truck, so when the sale is final on the ranger I will be using my work truck until I get a car.

and also, use more descriptive thread titles... you can edit yours by clicking 'edit' then 'go advanced', or by double-clicking right next to the title on the main forum listing page.

get a 240, you can find one for relatively cheap and they're fun cars. ive had 2 in my time both for under 3500. and as time goes on, if you really wanna get into it, do a motor swap and such

Im biased but I agree on the 240. Semi-quick out of the box, reliable, sporty, mods are cheap and easy to find, and like they said you can swap it really easily later on. I've had 3 so far. My first one had 195k miles on it and it started up and ran great every single day.
