Ive only heard that ebay electronic superchargers and chips and all that crap are bad and hurt your car more than give you power. But I got myself a cheapo MAF adapter and cone off of there so I cant say much, it was cheap and now I get to make a cold air box for fun, so buyer beware.

oh and for those who are gonna say prove it, find out the volumetric flow rate (amount of air in volume it can flow in an amount of time) its usually really low, too low to do anything and all it will really do is cause turbulance slowing down the flow if anything.

so yeah buyer beware

Oh God, not this again....not here, but I've read this about a 100 times on various boards

Let's say that maximum amount of power a car can use to drive an electric motor is probably about 2400Watts which equates to 12V at 200Amps. You better have heavy gauge wires. Supplying that much current will fry your battery and there is no way an OEM alternator can keep up. 700watts is about 1HP, so basically your taking a 3 horsepower motor and driving an air pump.

I could do the math for you but I'm too tired. Essentially you would be running an electric motor to the point of frying your electrical system and yielding at the most, 2 psi of boost at a low RPM. Most likely the compressor would not be able to keep up with the engine as RPMs increase and will probably choke the engine.

I'm not saying the electric blowers on Ebay are powwerful enough to fry you electrical system, just trying to put this into perspective and show their uselessness.

Funny you say that, because it actually looks like a leafblower motor.

my buddy hooked a leafblower motor up to his intake, and did some ghetto wiring, and had a switch he flicked to turn it on, it was rediculous. It was on a civic ex, so yea... hahaha what a moron, i wish i had taken a pic of it.
