Can you tell me what exactly you do when detailing an engine bay?

Its the VERY first thing you do when detailing a car (Do NOT squirt water or cleaner directly into the alternator)
1.) hose down the engine bay with a fan like spray, stream on the edges where the hood meets the fenders.
2.) we use an all purpose cleaner from ardex in a compressed spray tank, we spray it all under the hood, the edges, and the rest of the engine bay
3.) let it sit for 30 seconds-minute depending on how greasy it is
4.) scrub the bay with a wheel brush (medium-soft bristle brush with hairs approx. 3-4 inches long)
-scrub lightly, the all purpose does most of the work
5.) after scrubbing, hose it down the same way you rinsed it from the bottom of the hood down
6.) close the hood and let the engine sit and drip dry as u clean the rest of the car
7.) after you dry the car, etc and the engine bay is essentially dry you can then shine it (we use ardex details spray) on the plastic pieces or just leave it as is.
