And I still didn't get yelled at! :P Oh, and I had to peddle it on the top end, was running lean. Ran an 11.35@116.35 before that, saw it going lean and just let off completely, then got back on it a little. I think I'm just at the max of my fuel setup, I bumped up the pressure for the 11.31 run, but still leaned out on the topend. I think it's got an 11.2@122 if I can get a full pass out of it, maybe an 11.1, and it's not even cold out yet, was only 63* on my 11.31 run, 68* on my 11.35. Here's the full slip:

R/T: .036
60': 1.648
330: 4.693
1/8: 7.244
MPH: 95.91
990: 9.381
1/4: 11.316
MPH: 120.39

I am not sure what the safety features trucks need...but do you have a scattershield and roll bars? That's a freaking fast truck, I think I saw you once at ATCO awhile back when I blew my car up haha (almost)

RT's are quick ass trucks. I never could get into the Dakota scene though probably casue of my measley 3.9

Thanks guys!

Well, my truck only ran 15.3 stock, I guess taking 4 secs off my stock time is pretty good :)

SexyDSM, technically you need a rollbar to run under 11.49, but no one said anything. Hopefully I can get my fuel issue sorted out and get a few more passes before I get booted. I think she might crack a 10 with cold enough air and enough fuel, we'll see.

Thanks, it's definitely come a long way. I remember running 13's when I first put the blower on LOL Thank god for the wideband tho, totally saved my ass last night, best money I've spent on the truck so far! You gonna be legal on the new setup, or do we need to setup an alternate venue?

Thanks. Yeah, they were pretty busy with the Gamblers, works for me :) There was also a top fuel car there last night, made a pass, shut it down about half way, maybe less, ran a mid 7 @109 LMAO That thing was freakin insane when it took off, you could feel it through your whole body!

You are now known as "My friend with the slowass Dakota."

Need videos to x-post to other forums now.

You ever go to a NHRA event. The entire stands shake with 2 8000hp cars go down the track. Car Alarms go off. Awsome.

Incredible times for that mph. That is one hell of a fast truck. I can't believe you run that fast with 493 whp. Is that AWD HP or just RWHP?

What cost you more, the entrance fee or the gas used making those passes?

I can't imagine how much you must go through with that thing. Hell, I put $41 into my damn Subaru and it only last 230miles to a tank.

So what's the problem? Pump? Injectors?

If I had to guess, I would say I'm probably gonna trap 122-23 on a full pass. I trapped 120 when I ran 11.6. It's RWHP, and I'm probably a lil above that now, especially in the cooler air, that dyno was in the heat in June and I've picked up 2lbs of boost since then with the new intake.

Gate fee $13, 4.4gal of 103 $30 LOL Burned it all in five runs.

35 ish bucks and I get about 190mpg. I can only imagine. But then again, he's indicated taht he's tuned, so if he doesn't WOT it all the time, he's probably fine on gas.

Should have enough pump, gonna go bigger on the airhat injectors. I just dropped down my primaries from 36lbers to 30lbers, it was too rich down low and in the midrange with the 36's, now it's perfect with the 30's, but not enough up top, hopefully bumping up the airhat injectors (which only come on under boost) will help that. I hate running this band-aided, bastardized setup, but it's all I got till I can swing a full standalone.

I get 17.5mpg on the highway in the truck, if I keep my foot out of it, that's 2.5mpg better than I got stock :) But I have a '93 Cherokee for a beater, and I've been driving the wife's Jetta to work to save on gas. Gonna pick up a '95 Golf from my inlaws in a couple weeks, that'll be my commuter car (56 miles everyday roundtrip to/from work).

LOL It's about as "tuned" as you can get it w/o a standalone. Unfortunately there's no easy tuning options for these trucks. And even with the SAFC I'm running, all I can do is trim the injectors, can't add fuel with our pcm. :(

I get about 19mpg highway. That's about 21 less than stock. Running pig rich sucks.

You're lucky.

Megasquirt. Very cheap. 300-ish for complete fuel tuning. like 375-400ish for fuel and spark. Very nice system.

How about a mechanical Rising Rate FPR?

As your boost increases the RRFPR's "Boost to Fuel Pressure Ratio" will increase and introduce a fatter and fatter mixture as you go up, assuming your injectors and pump are up to the task.

Standalone setups are nicer, but also a little too expensive for my taste.

EDIT: And i get 24 mpg average. 35 mpg if i stay out of the gas.

bad360rt
09-07-2005, 04:52 PM
Yup, the Paxton kit comes with a RRFPR. I bumped the pressure up to about 70psi at idle, which puts me in the mid 80's under full boost, don't want to go much above that. Yeah, cost is what's kept me from a standalone this far. Gonna try bigger airhat injectors, if that doesn't work, just gonna have to start saving my pennies :)

I've thought about that, but no one has tried it on these trucks yet. I'm always skeptical about being the guinea pig, but I might give it a shot. Parish is running it on his 1000+hp truck, so it definitely works.

Most of the turbo saturns run the MS.

There's a ton of cars running MS and MS2. Ian (the fastest turbo turd that we know of) used a Tec2. Ebay can snag those for significantly less than regular pricing.

Is is possible to get a RRFPR with a more aggressive ratio? like 70PSI @ idle and 90PSI under full boost? That was my thought, don't know about any particular product.

That's an idea. I'm gonna try bigger injectors in the airhat, see how that works, then go from there. Anyone wanna donate to my standalone fund? :)

Impressive numbers. I'm assuming you're running ice in the water/air tank? I would think that would diminish any gains you'd normally see with cooler air. regardless, get the fuel sorted out and the top end should be plenty for 10s.

Thanks. Yup, I run ice in the water tank when I'm at the track. I still see a big difference between the heat and cooler air tho. Got some bigger injectors on the way, might hit up Atco, not sure tho, might just wait for Cecil next month, don't want to break something and then miss the Cecil meet LOL

What fuel pump are you running? Have you checked its flow chart to make sure it doesnt drop off at 90psi? Higher FP != more fuel all the time.

Thanks! I'm running 28x13.50 Hoosier QTP's. Should be able to hit some 1.5's with a few suspension tweaks and a bigger stall.
