what is an axis stage 4.5? Stage 3 is a built 2.5L, stage 5 is a sleved and built 2.5, but never heard of the 4.5. More info please.

Axis stage 4.5 is the following... I don't think you can buy it this way anymore..(at least according to vivids site) Its now sold as stage 5.

Stage 4.5 Components:
- 2.2 or 2.5 Liter Case
- Darton Ductile Iron Sleeves
- Axis Racing Modified Forged Crankshaft
- Axis Racing/CP forged Pistons
- Pauter 4340 Chrome-Moly Forged Rods
- Larger ARP head studs
- Cometic Head Gaskets
- 2.4 liter Final Displacement
- MAX 9500 RPM Rev Limit

if i were you i'd skip the sti cams and get an aftermarket set... but honestly there are much more direct ways to making more power than having to pull the motor just to install cams. that motor is made to handle more turbo, more boost, and race gas or meth... not interested in those things? what about headers? ewg is a good choice too...

^^ we've been over the "mod list" Pulling the motor isnt a big deal at all. That car has been torn apart a million times

with what Drake has in mind a set of STi cams would do just fine. The block was purchased because his 2L had a bad case of rod knock (hence his user name)
he doesnt want to do meth. He wants 400whp on pump. An EWG and STi cams would def get him there with no problem
for just being a 20g this car makes some nasty power. a set of STi cams would help the top end breath that much better for pretty cheap.

well i'd love to see how it turns out, i just thought there would only be marginal gains from STi cams... worth it if the motor was out already but i guess thats up to how much you feel like yanking the motor out.
