evo by all means
more room
a usable trunk
better handling
better look (i think)
should i go on??

Plus the Z has the notchiest shifter ive ever felt, and it doesnt wheelspin, it wheelhops..kinda scary considering its RWD

Good point - I guess I have to change my vote to the evo since it sounds like this will be his only car. I sure wouldn't want to have to go out in some bad winter weather if a 350z was my only ride.

why cant you drive a 350z in the snow and be safe? tires do wonders..as subie owners can attest. try going through snow in summer tires..so its not that bad to have rwd in the snow just have to have the right tires.

I would personally go for the Z just because I want one.

Most RWD cars will not do so well in the snow with summer tires. Dedicated snow tires (not all seasons) and some common sense will do the trick.

Since they are two completely different cars drive both and see what you like. The Z is probably not as practical since it's a two seater and the hatch is all but useless for larger items.

I've driven both cars and i can tell you the EVO doesn't handle any better than a Z. They push the front end in hard corners were as the Z's stay planted and goes. Im sure EVOMIKE is gonna come in here and tell me how wrong i am, but yeah ive driven both cars pretty dam hard. Sponsored1 should jump in on this lol! anyway like some others have said test drive them both and see what you like. the EVO is faster than the old Z's hands down. the new Z are a lot faster, im sure it would be a different story. the way my Brothers is set up it makes it corner like all hell. plus its got that bad ass baller look.

this is tough, because i also like the Z. But if you look at it from some differet perspectives:
- The Z can be costly to mod. I see some exhaust systems going for double the price of evo exhausts
- The Evo can be made a beast for less money
- The Evo might have a better chance of breaking once you mess with it (i cant say for sure cuase i never owned a Z)
- The Evo is easier to work on, which means less labor
- AWD is FUN! in every weather.
- ^But then again...so is RWD
..if i think of anything else ill edit

EDIT: Famous Evo Vs. Lambo Top Gear (http://youtube.com/watch?v=5lJwlUJU-f8) I would like to see a Z do that...STOCK.

yeah, cool in a drag race you got my brothers car beat. your cars is only gonna be faster because it has more power to pull threw the corner. im telling i have plenty of seat time in both cars. If my brother would let me autocross his Z I would, but thats not gonna happen. I'll keep working on him this summer. I'd put his car vs a stock evo on a road course anyday.

Both are great cars. I owned an Evo 9 and also a G35 Coupe (basically a Z) and loved them both for what they are. The G/Z is a great platform for a daily driver/fun sports car. With a few light mods these cars are very fun, handle great, and have more than enough power for most people (on the streets that is).

The Evo is a pure beast. With a few light mods the car simply flys!!! It is also nice to have 4 doors and a nice large trunk.

Just depends on what you like, how you drive, and your overall situation. Either way, you cant go wrong, and it seems regardless of your pick you are going to have a Great car!

Best of Luck!

PS: Evo is more expensive to insure :)

Both of these cars ride harsh, I have a performance model Z and I can't stand the ride. A friend of mine has an Evo and I think it rides equally as harsh. On the highway I think the Z rides nicer, but overall it feels like a small car. It also wheelhops like no other car I have driven. I am shocked I have not snapped the rear yet. I do think the Z is more reliable then the evo, and can be modded just as easily. I had a ati procharger on my Z with a full exhaust and it put down 368rwhp, those mods can be had for about 3k used and should be good for mid to low 12's with a good driver. RWD traction in the cold with a supercharger is not fun at all, Make sure you pick up a Z with traction control or you will be sideways in 3rd gear if the car has that much power. Personally if you want a nicer driving car, i would look into the 05+ Subaru Legacy GT's. They are much more refined then the Evo and can be had for about 15k for an 05 with decent miles. Plus alot of the upgrades used for the sti should work for the LGT since they share a similiar platform.

just so you know, don't underestimate the carrying capacity of a Z. It's far more roomy than you think. I got 4 19" wheels with tires in there once. I also got a double futon mattress in the hatch and once an entire body kit. Sure it doesn't have back seats but all that means is that you won't have to chauffeur around your gf's fat third wheel of a friend.

Plus it has the tightest steering on any car I have ever driven. Super responsive.

SUPRARICE87
03-27-2008, 05:16 PM
I think it sepends on the person's age, size, personallity. remember a car describes you. imo if your a young guy barely 19, old car was a honda civic si you would go with the evo. because it's an evo. and older guy would choose the z. i'm a little older I would choose the z. I know it's a stero type but there is some truth in it. plus if i was 19 i wouldnt think of a z. I would be like

"All no they are slow and can't take a turn!"

but for me it's about mastering control of your car and how it feels to you. I love the way a rwd car feel. I love the oversteer. understeer reminds me of my fwd days. now you drove a civic so evo wouldn't be a shock to you as far a handling you would go around corners faster etc. you would adapt faster.

rwd guys would just say upgrade your susp. and adapt. rwd would make you a better driver. but i'm not all that smart. I never even been to the track before.

I'm 29. you know I'm right. A younger guy 17yrs old would enjoy an evo more than a rwd 350.

you on the other hand took it to another level. you took it pass that evo flash, and your exploring the more tech side. I mean your close to 400awhp. your on another level.
