Hello everyone, I have a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am 6.6L with a 4 speed transmission for sale, similar to the one in the movie "Smokey and the Bandit", but not an SE, it has had only 2 owners. Garaged its whole life, and sat from 1995 til today 3-6-08, I took her out and gave her a bath.
As far as mileage, the Odometer reads 20K, the previous owner told me when it was parked in 1995, the Odometer stopped working 3-4 years prior. So mileage to the best of her recolection is estimated to be around 40-45K miles.
The car is in very good condition, considering its 30 years old. Body and paint are in pretty good condition, with very small blemishes here and there. The interior is nice, the drivers seat is vinyl and shows some wear. The clutch, brake, gas pedals all look to be in great condition.
It does have Fisher T-tops, with the original t-top covers, and was ordered with NO AC, power windows/locks,or tilt. If you look up the production list with these options missing, I believe you will find the car to be very rare.
I am looking to buy a house, so the toy has to go. I havent even had a chance to drain the fluids, but I did just wash her, and let me tell you this car is clean.
The car will need all the fluids drained and replenished with fresh fluids. I dont think it will take alot to get the car running. A good project for the collector or anyone looking for a unique classic. I have not messed with anything on the car, so the buyer will have a fresh opportunity to do things the way they wanna.
It has the 6.6L pontiac 400 V8 with the shaker hood. The Transmission is a 4 speed Manual.
As far as production, this car is 1 of 4112 Manual Trans Ams produced in 1978!!!!!!
The only aftermarket parts are the realistic radio, and rear speakers, and the Hurst shift knob.
LOWERED the price to $14,000.00 or best offer. ALSO I will consider trades + cash. Thanks for looking.
