ok i think i may know the answer but i want some more input b4 i go throwing away money on another part.. here is my dilemma.

got a big 16g ported and clipped (i think)8psi waste gate so i bought a boost controller and turned her 3/4 of the way up to 13psi. now i cranked it all the way up and i'm only hitting 15psi with a spike of 18. i'm thinking of getting a hp boost controller but i just wanted to c if there was any other way b4 buying 1.. all connections have been checked by me, axeldsm1 and silverbullet05... so i need some input a better boost controller i currently have turbo xs manual bc.

thanks

If it's an old one the spring may be getting weaker.

Yup, they can max out, even before the end of their adjustment. With a 7psi wg spring, adjustments to my hallman would get less precise and boost would flutter a bit in the 14-16 psi range. Decent boost controller otherwise. I've heard that it's best to run no more than 8 psi over spring pressure to ensure solid boost with no spiking on a mbc. Perhaps you could try a stiffer spring.

i cant really see the spring weakening by the design of the thing. check your wastegate preload and make sure you dont have any leaks before you blame the bc

i have went over everything checking even took off the mcb and it showed steady 8psi. which is what it's supposed to be...did a boost leak test and all....

get a FP wastegate, should solve all problems with too little boost.

I've always gone by the "rule of thumb" that the max boost is roughly twice the base wastegate spring boost. So maybe consider increasing the spring load as high as you can for daily/pump use and that will be about the max boost you can get out of that spring.
