Well, the time has come.

Reason for selling: I can't afford to keep putting money into the car as it sits. Nothing against Ryan and Area1320, but I had never expected anything like this to happen with the swap. Ah well, 20/20 as they say.

Anyway the details:

The car is currently located in Nazareth, at Area1320. Ryan just got the car running yesterday, but it hesitates bad around 3k. Its missing an 02 sensor, which is both rare, and a pain in the ass to find, and it will most likely take weeks to arrive from Japan.

Interior:

Complete interior
6 CD changer
floor mats
carpet
Everything would be included

Exterior:
The exterior has some flaws. The car needs a paint job, especially the hood / front and rear bumpers. But like I stated, its a project car.

There is a small amount of accident damage to the drivers side of the car. Before I bought the car, it was located in Philly. It was apparently sideswiped by a drunk guy, and then he ran, of course. The only serious part of the damage would be the door, it is bent from the impact so the part that seals shut against the rear quarterpanel sticks out about a half an inch. The rest of it, was just paint. There is a dent in the rear quarter panel, but I also managed to minimize the damage, by banging it out. There is no rust, as far as I know, I took care of that before I started the swap.

Also, I have both sideskirts, they are just at my house, I took them off for the swap.

Engine bay:

Version 3 WRX Ej20k
Stock it makes roughly 240 at the crank, so yes it is slightly more powerful then the stock USDM WRX
ECU - Apexi PowerFC with a Commander, recently got this from R/T Tuning (great shop)
I cleaned the engine bay before I swapped it, so there isn't any rust as far as I know, and it looks slightly fresher then normal

Also, there is something up with the powersteering. As soon as it is connected (the belt) the lines swell up, and then explode shooting fluid all over the place.

Drivetrain:

RS 5 Speed - unknown year
Stock Drivetrain
JDM Sti front Sway bar with stock mounts
Version 5 struts, with H&R lowering springs

The car has basically everything it needs to get running again, except for an 02 sensor, and then some hardcore time needed to really find out what is causing it to skip at 3k RPM, and the power steering.

Price:
I would like to get around 3000 for, seeing as I have already spent roughly 9000. I am open to offers, I don't expect much, so in another way, I do not expect a potential buyer to expect much either. It is a project car. It does not run well enough to drive, so don't ask that.

Here are some pictures of what it looks like during / before the swap.

Edit: Talked to Ryan again, it sounds like it really is the 02 sensor causing the skipping, as the ECU has no idea what the A/F is. It really could use a tune, but for now it needs the 02 to get it tuned. See what I mean? Problems within problems... I can be so naive sometimes.

Car is sold. Thank you for bumping, looking, etc.

Eh well, make an offer, like I said because of the damage, and the state it currently is in, I don't expect much at all.

Well the galant has 165xxx miles on it 2 new front tires, newer front suspension, new front passenger side wheel hub and control arm. But I think the valve seals are starting to go.

Meh, screw the PM's I am looking to get around 3000 for it, I'll just edit the title. Assuming I can't do that... I am willing to go lower. It really has been a HUGE burden on my shoulders this past year, and I would like to sell it to someone that is willing to finish it. Or at least start over. Hell, I might even try to part it out...

hey, most o2 sensors are o2 sensors. go get one from autozone.

Signatus230
03-04-2008, 11:21 PM
Could it really be that simple? I mean it is a JDM engine, but... haha I just don't know.

narrow band sensors are mostly all the same. It it requires a three wire sensor than a three wire or four wire sensor will work. If its a two wire sensor than a two, three, or four will work. You just need to match up the wires if they arent already. Theres signal, signal ground, heater, heater ground...thats for a four wire.

Its the front o2 I assume, the only issue you might run into is it its a wideband sensor. Some front o2's are.

Signatus230
03-04-2008, 11:34 PM
Its the only 02 sensor for this engine, so... But I understand what you are saying. Since its a JDM pinout, its alot harder to find the damn difference between the signal wires, and grounds and such.

the car wouldnt run well at all without an 02 sensor. i would definitely do whatever it takes to get one in there before you go scrapping the whole project.
did ryan recommend that? i'd think he would... the cars fueling is pretty heavily reliant on that sensor.

Signatus230
03-05-2008, 12:10 AM
Yes of course, but as Ryan knows I have been back and forth with this damn car... hell he has had it almost as long as I have. I was lied to by the seller, jipped by the original owners... haha. Its ok though, a learning experience. I really would like to get this car to someone that will finish it, and start over, 100%. And do it right.

Holy crap, so thats what happened to the car. Lol, they gave me the abreviated history of it when I first bought, said vaguely what happened. And that epoxy actually worked for a year, till the turbo motor was put in, lol. Well its in capable, capable hands now.
