Rat-rod style MKII Jetta

Like the title says, MK2 Jetta, with red steelies, whitewall, tucked to hell. Rough looking body, some rust, some primer, etc, etc.

Saw it over by the Giant on Cowpath, around 5:30.

I love it! Anyone on here?

I saw a MK2 Golf rat rod at NLS in coopersburg. Flat black, Red steelies, red sweep vinyl, whitewalls, billet grille, etc. The interior and engine bay are done in 1950s black and white checker.

Pretty neat.

Moon eyes decals too? I loved it too. If you know the guy, tell him the MSP that he watched go by loved his car, lol. I tried to give him a thumbs up, but I didn't get my window down in time.

yeah man that place is sketchy, supposedly it was a laundry mat in the front where a murder was then they never reopened it and like the back looks like a chopshop some times theres 21303744 cars and some times the lot is empty

I have only lived down here a few years, and for the life of me I cannot figure out what that place is. It looks like a laundromat, but isn't. With the amount of cars, I thought it could be a holding area for the auction or a dealer or something?? Anyone know the deal with that place?

the front part of it was a laundromat. i know some of the Hatfield matinence trucks are stored back on the left side of the building. Its a big property

Google maps actually has an updated map of that area. it shows cvs already built and them constructing giant.

probably. the white walls on my dads '41 chevy pick-up are painted from his freinds body shop. dont know what kind of paint is used though

What i was commenting on was, what class would that take? Best paint? Best of show? Best roof rack? I personally as a car enthusiast, cannot see that winning a show, even if it was a VW show

Well, most vw shows have a hoard of different classes, it might well have been the only one in it's class:). But really, people reserve the right to have different taste. But with the vw crowd, originality does'nt last very long. Obviously, the low n' slow "rat rod" thing has caught on in a big way. Whatever. Personally, I think patina and charm(like eccentricity) cannot be forced, some people(like the a1 jetta below) simply try too hard. But if it makes someone happy, so be it. It's just that some are overly pretentious.

All Im saying is that it takes alot of charm and style for a car to look as sexy as a $25k STI/ EVO while its standing still and has a top speed of 60mph. :mrgreen:

While Evo and STi owners can be car guys, most of them have a hard time admitting/ recognizing when a car as humble as the mk1 has more sex appeal.
