ALOT.
you will see some pretty good gains with a tune man.

Yeah you would really notice a difference in how your car drives not just the amount of power.

i will as always recommend the Cobb APV2. Its quick, its simple, and you can take it where ever you go with most mods. oh, and you can run STX with it too.

I would go cobb, but I'm really not trying to spend am arm and a leg so I'm thinking a reflash would be my best bet, or a custom road tune

oh yea and I have 1step colder NGK plugs...
I want to get an up pipe... I have heard that this is the 1 place in exhaust pipe size that
I don't want it to be big like the rest of the exhaust.
Lookin for an sti up pipe I guess? and should I install that before I get a tune or will it not make that much of a
difference if I install it after...
I'm just trying to gather/ install my parts so I can optimize a real good tune without having to go back everytime I get a part added to
make the car run right....

yeah i think you'll be very happy with a custom tune. i really like openecu (enginuity/romraider)... its very powerful software at any price, even though its free and you just pay for the tuning time.
and i've got an 06 sti uppipe with really low mileage fs for $80 if you're interested. i'd definitely get that on the car before you get tuned, it'll help and you wont want to change it after your tune.

I'm def interested Bryan, but isn't that going to trigger a cel?
Is there a solution to that? And I'd like to not have to take it off next year for inspection....

none of that is an issue. you can pass inspection with a catless uppipe by using a common resistor from radio shack to get rid of the cel, or you can just turn the cel off from the ecu if you do use openecu or another reflash.

the 07 is the same as the 04/05 sti up pipe?
I just don't want any chance of fitment errors...

I do not recommend the AccessPort. I used it on my 04 WRX and I got an error while uploading new firmware and it trashed my ECU. I am now running a UTEC tuned by TurboXS and my car runs great. I was running the Stage 4 map and was putting down 258 WHP. After the tune I was running 285 WHP @ 17 Psi and 308 WHP at 24 Psi.
Tuning is not cheap so I would get your mods done first and run generic maps until you finish all of your desired mods.
As far as inspection, buy a cheap code reader and clear your CEL before you take in for inspection. PA does not require a visual inspection so you do not need cats, etc. I am running GT Spec headers, Helix catless DP and Borla Hush exhaust with no cats and I pass inspection in PA.

You cannot just clear your codes before you go get inspected. Your sensors will be in the open state and if you have more than 2 open in PA, you will not pass.
Do what TROLL said and get a tune and have them disable those specific CELs. I also recommend getting a tune with OpenECU/RomRaider because instead of paying for a piece of hardware or a software license, you can instead pay the tuner for a complete custom tune. That way you pay less than you would have for an accessport / UTEC, and you also have a tune made specifically for your car!

I installed a Perrin O2 Simulator and I still get a CEL from the secondary O2 sensor. After the CEL is cleared I can run for a few days before it reoccurs. My car has passed PA inspection for a few years and I have cleared the codes the day I dropped it off. It may not always work but it has worked fine for me.
I do not know anything about OpenECU/RomRaider but any tuning done by a reputable tuner will greatly improve your cars performance.
Good luck.

If you're clearing codes right before you go in for inspection then its really hard to beleive that you're legitimately passing. It takes a 'cycle' for all of the sensors to reset themselves which can be a full tank of gas or more, and after any type of reset the sensors will not read 'ready' even if there are no CELs, and if they dont read ready then you wont pass inspection.
Of course thats not to say that there aren't plenty of shops out there who will look the other way for a minor sensor or two thats not ready.

I have taken the car to the Goodyear in West Chester, PA the last 2 years and once in Downingtown before that. It always passed and I do not know anyone at the shops. In December I was exempt due to low mileage.
Might be a string of good luck.....
I should just put a resister on the sensor to avoid the CEL in the first place.

Ahhh, exempt is a whole different thing. For an exempt car, it never even gets plugged into the emissions machine.

I tried that but like troll states below, cat read not ready...
