dude. its a neon. i gave up on defending the SRT. because when people ask me what i drive, they either dont know what an SRT4 is, or if they do they ask to drive it or pester me with stupid questions. now i just say "i drive a neon" and it ends the conversation abruptly.

practical is different for every person... so far 2 days i've had my car it has been impractial because of the snow...and i guess that would've meant for me 2 days YOUR car WOULD be practical...

He was saying the practicality issue was the two seater...

again...the original post didn't mention anything about what kind of car he had or how many seats or how many wheel drive it had or what his definition of practical was...i was just listing my choice because he also said he was open to suggestions and my car is very practical for me...
EDIT: didn't even look at his ride...i mean even between the z and the s2k there are major differences...just thought i'd throw it out there...
Yeah.. like trunk space.. lol. The Z at least has some.

ill say it again...it would all be in his definition of practical...hardtop with a lot more storage....i mean the only real difference between the rsx's interior and mine is the half of a back seat that half of a midget might fit in w/o hitting his head on the roof

honestly i would have to asked what particularly r u wanting more seats, more trunk space, better all weather performance, my next question is do yuo mind lower mpg's like 15-20 then from there 1 can make a truely educated decision.... i don't know about you a a 3000gt vr-4 would meet alot of the criteria above but it's upto what you need most..

cant go wrong with 200hp, 6spd, leather everywhere, bose sound system, sunroof, big trunk, ALL MOTOR, and the fact that it's a honda and it'll run for ever
Type-s all the way but i'm biased
handles well, goes well, 8k redline, best sub 25k car interior, and nice looks. plus it sounds better saying you own an acura rather than a neon srt-4

I have an SRT-4 and I'll give you a completely biased opinion
Look it's up to you. You wanna win drag races, get the neon. But you're sacrifice'n creature comforts.
You wanna have leather and stuff get the RSX.
They both handle about the same. Road and track did a comparision and the neon "I believe" beat the RSX in performance all around. Note the "I believe" I can't find the artice.
Both cars have stigmas attached. Neons have an inforiority complex and RSX have the Honda boy-racer image.
It is a neon. It has a neon interior and it has neon cheap written all over it. My SRT-4 gets 28-30 when not beating the piss out of it. It has an iron block, fordged rods, and it's boosted from the factory. The trans sucks and it has a giant wing

eh, the trans isn't bad... it just feels like you're shifting a truck lol and sometimes you gotta push'er into gear... the wing serves its purpose... it blocks peoples head lights from blinding you :D
I test drove an RSX-S before the SRT-4... oooo revving to 7k.. the was... um... fun? and no power till you got there... oh wait... 200bhp is power?
the interior was nice...
on that note, I can't wait to take my srt to the autocross track where my stock race seats keep me in place as I carefully walk the line between too much throttle and losing traction (due to the 260whp and 300ft/tq that I got for just under $300) to rocketing through corners.
but hey, if you want a nicer looking car with a leather interior and 6 useless gears (a car with that low power and that high revs needs a CVT damnit), where all you're going to hear is a bitchy 4 banger when you're in your power band.. get the rsx-s
as you can tell, I was highly unimpressed by the rsx-s when I drove it. It was more subtle looking and the interior had a nicer finish. Not to mention its a honda product so the durability is there in stock form.
But the SRT-4... the first time you lay on the gas... it literally grabs you by your nuts, whistles at you (yay turbo whine), and runs screaming while pulling you along for the ride.
And then, as if thats enough... it starts begging to be modded... with a stock block capable of nearly 500whp... you can't help yourself...

For 14K you could pick a very nice condition used 9-5 Aero. Stock for stock, I toast SRT4s, RSXs and Legacy GTs. I could keep going on about how it's the clearly superior choice, but I'll instead just offer you a test drive some time if you want it.

haha, yea buddy... its a neon... big deal. A car is a certain car based on the body, not whats under the hood, not the suspension, not the seats, not the gauge cluster, etc.
Of course, if the old adage holds ground here... "if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and looks like a duck... well, it must be a duck" the srt-4 isn't a neon ;)
but seriously... 05accent, its a neon. Of course its got a better 0-60 and 1/4 time that a porsche cayman, so I'm ok with that :)

Amen! x2! I dont hate hondas or the rsx for that matter but what are you looking for from this car. Speed srt all day everyday. A clean lil somewhat luxuary car then go Rsx. But let me tell you from my experience the rsx type is a slooooooow pos stock, I dont care if you shift it at 10000 rpms. Its still slow, the 6 speed is a waste and IMO the seats are uncomfartable. I may be a lil bias here but SRT FTW! :wiggle:

Viggen, yeah, that's the hottest of the stock SAABs. Slightly faster than my car(less weight mostly), but they have chassis stiffness issues so they torque steer like nobody's business. The 9-5 aero has the same engine, a much stiffer chassis and more advanced suspension. It's just a lot better at put it's power down, but the stock suspension lets it down.
I was agreeing with you. 05accent has a stick up his ass about the whole neon thing.
I pretty much automatically hate anyone who pulls the card "it doesn't say Neon on it." The SRT4 as a muscle car. They took a cheap, basic car and put a awesome engine in it and suspension and brakes to help it not crash.

Look at these ****ing idiots messing up your thread with there psychobabel.
I'm not biased at all and have driven both. I would go with the majority on this one and get the Type-S. It's much more practical with the gas prices and they aren't slow at all. They move, the best 2.0 n/a motor I've ever beat on. Hell with a reflash and some bolt ons you can rip that thing and have the car look sexy as hell. Car gets the girls wet too. It's reliable, good on gas, etc.
You could save up for a supercharger if you felt the need to take it on the highway and embarrass srt-4's all day long.

I like both cars. Both would need some minor adjustments to make me happy. I woudl definitely say get a blower on a Type S. Love the comptech and jackson racing on there. Make good power with just 5 psi. and there is room to grow on that. SRT-4. Make sure its an 04 and up for the Dif and just work the suspension. With the SRT, never liked the interior, mainly due to the big older shifter (pt cruiser issue). However, you have to respect both engines and make the decision thats right for you.
For me, its a toss up. Bolt ons with blower Type S would be Sex. Suspensioned SRT-4 would be Sex. Choice is yours.
Good point of view here from the supercharged Type S:

2nd. I wouldn't be so quick to take the fuel route. I get 30mpg on the highway. I used to drive from my duty station to Philly all the time and averaged that driving like a retard. RSX guys correct me here, don't you have to use premium?
They are both good cars. If you want a touch of class take the RSX. If you want something to build up go with the SRT-4. Just me though.

To the OP, it depends on how you define "practical".
What is it you are looking for in a car? For me, a practical daily driver meant 4 doors, pretty good gas mileage, relatively inexpensive, and reliable. Just as important as all of that though, was I wanted something fun. I had never wanted an SRT-4 simply because it was a neon…..until of course I drove one. It has been 100% reliable since day one, even after being modded. Around town driving will net me 20mpg as long as I don't hang out in the boost too much. Cruising on the highway returns 30mpg.
I'm a fan of all cars, having owned vehicles such as a GSR, Cobra, etc. Put thought into your purchase and buy it for the right reasons,...not just because the Honda or Dodge fans tell you their car is the best. Do your research.
