I wouldn't wory about a prelude. If people are going to a honda meet to scope out cars to steal, their not gonna go for an Accord when they could go for a Civic or Integra.
If you want to be really carefull just take your plate off.

Or if you are really worried, don't go to the meet in your car.

Your questions are so easily answered by searching Google or using a bit of thought.
Pull your ECU. Disconnect your battery. Pull fuses. Pull the wiring on your fuel pump. Disconnect your throttle cable. Put your drivers seat in a friends car.

bring food, lots of it. name tags, so we know who you are. turn your vtecs off
why would you cover your plates? someone could just take the covering off. or when you leave they can just jot your information down.
why dont you just trailer your car to the meet?

Lol. Priceless.
Honestly though, what kind of a meet are you planning on going to? Downtown Philly? I can vouch for my area that our meets are clean, green, and free... that didn't really work but whatever.
so what else should i do when going to a pretty big meet besides covering up my VIN and plates?
Depends on the venue. If you are talking Carlisle show field vs. Ikea in Philly then you are talking a very wide range of thoughts.

lol...
1.) Don't buy a Honda.
2.) 44 Magnum. It'll blow that greasy-handed ****'s head clean off.
3.) Draw massive penises allover the thing, and then let it be known that you've killed at least 3 fatties with your throbbing manspear in the backseat.
4.) Lo-jack it, but instead of using some built in ECU nonsense, JBweld your brother to the headliner and let him handle the situation when it comes.
 all in good fun, mate.

lol. Wtf, covering your plates really does nothing, you will eventually have to un-cover them so that you can drive home. The best bet is to get the car registered to a different address than the one you live at, like your parents place, or your in-laws. That way, even if they get the plates they'll go to the wrong house, or you could store your car away from home. Cover your vin, dont leave any of your paperwork laying within sight(put everything in glove-box) and dont draw unecessary attention to it.

No offense to the OP, but do Preludes or any car for that matter get stolen or broken into that often? I think you're a little paranoid...

Yes. Talk to anyone who has owned an integra or civic.
And the dumb thieves might steal a prelude because they know it's a honda.

Um. Yeah.
Honda day at Englishtown there were 7 car stolen FROM THE MEET. Civic/Integra's are stolen every day and have been on the top 10 most stolen car lists for a very very long time now.

That's surprising, esp from a car meet. I know they are in the top 10 stolen in the country. But why would they steal it over lets say a Mustang Cobra or something similar? I'm not trying to bash hondas here, but why would they steal more common cars like preludes or civics? I think it comes down to statistics. The more cars sold=higher potential to be stolen.

actually, the biggest reason is the market for parts. Cobra parts are more expensive, and cobra owners are pickier about their parts, if a part seems TOO cheap they will get suspicious. Honda parts are about the cheapest out there, and most buyers are young kids who will buy any part at a good deal not caring if its stolen.

A) Honda's are very easy to steal.
B) Honda's have a huge fan base.
C) Honda's are easy to work on, you can strip them in a matter of hours.
D) Honda aftermarket is cheap and you can sell all of someone elses parts in a matter of hours no problem.
Not saying that other cars don't get stolen because they surely do, but with how easy it is to take the car, strip it down, and profit like crazy off of them they are a theives #1 pick.
James, IM me brotha'
