Mac guys i need your help!

ok guys i am not much of a Mac person and i am learning as i go. I work for Warren county school district. This one school i am at is mac heaven. The PC teacher and the art teacher Swear by macs. so they came to me with a problem. the kids are getting into the system settings and messing with them. so they asked me to set up a new user and set it so they can't get into the system settings. Ok not hard i did it worked well. then they came to me with a new software they wanted to use for the younger kids. Its called Kid Pix. i installed it set the software for the lab students to use save apply all that good stuff. went to the lab user name opened the software and it worked. so i thought my job was done. here is where the problem lays. you can open it and it gives you a menu of 6 different things. all different parts of the software to be used. when you click on any of the 6 i get an error massage that states. Error #1016 cannot open. Now the software is an OS9 software, and i have it set to open. I can't get it to open no matter what i do!! Can anyone please point me in the right diresction for me please!!!

I don't really know anything about Macs because I'm a PC guy.... BUT... have you tried to just re-install the software? Sometimes that works for me.

o and i did google the error code and i couldn't find anything, and its OSX 10.3.3 to be exact

I don't really know anything about Macs because I'm a PC guy.... BUT... have you tried to just re-install the software? Sometimes that works for me.

dude trust me i hate mac's i mean i am ok at them now being that i had zero experience with them. i reinstalled them on two of the pcs and got the same error. now if i turn off the setting for the user to be able to use all items of the pc it works. the only thing i have off is that they can't use the system settings and thats it everything else they can use all they want! i am so lost with this. i told them both i know the answer to this problem. Toss the macs in the trash and use PCs!!

Sounds like the schools operating system is out of date for the software. 10.3.3 is the newest OS for mac, leopard i believe. The software they got might just be a little to new for that computer.

Just my guess though. Im a mac guy but brought up on PC so im working making the transition

nah the software is ment for os9 so it opens classic mode when you start the kid pix software. its so annoying because they have the new kid pix that runs on osx with no problems but they want to use this kp for os9 and its SO annoying!!!

10.5.2 is the newest operating system for macs, it is called leopard.

What sort of mac is it? model?
