While traveling back to work from lunch today, I got stopped by the local police. My Citations were:
1. Speeding; 50 in a 40 (actually 57 via VASCAR..if it matters much)
2. Failure to Signal a Lane Change (no turn signal...)
3. Failure to present valid insurance information.
Ok. All 3 are dumb on my part I know, but I had questions about my actions from here on out. In the past, the tickets I have received, have been singular and I have pled not guilty to all of them. So in essence, I paid $xxx.xx + $7 like it says on the back of the ticket.
So in this case, do I have to tack on $7 for EACH ticket? Or do I pay just 1 time for the 3? Also, do I have to pay the full amount? Or is there a minimum that I can send and settle up at the hearing? I usually send a check in full, but with situations these days, I can't afford the amount in one lump check....
The speeding is 2 points...which sucks anytime, since I already had 2 points from the ticket mentioned before. But the officer said if I showed up at court, he would help me out, and so far police officers that have said that came through....even state police, which I am thankful for because it has led to helping needy kids and stuff. It's easier to eat the money and give snacks than to eat the money completely.
My other thing is that normal day traffic does in excess of 50mph on the same road that I was on in both directions (3 lanes each way) all day long. Is that something I can bring up to anyone? Or should I just swallow the stupidity of driving a tiny red sports car and sticking out?
The insurance was negligence on my part. There was confusion with my company and I'm looking at my card right now, so I can bring it with me and have that settled.
Thanks in advanced. I must say that the new Chargers they have in my area come out of no where.
