Runs on 100LL

The bad:
Car will need a trans at some point. I suggest putting a 3.94 in it. But it does move out!
Needs a driver side fender.
Could use a hood if you really wanted
Car has the infamous taillight/trunk leak. But because I'm lazy and I don't drive the car much the water runs inside on the floor and it gets filled with water. Hence the no carpet and headliner.
Parking brake needs some adjustment.
I think the shifter cables might be setting against the LTH underneath, might need to ziptie and move some stuff around a little better.
And the last would be paint, if you wanted, because it's rattle canned black.

The car does run strong. But it needs a better intake manifold. There's a stocker on there right now. The car is def. a handful. Not your typical DD.

I am NOT parting this car out. I don't NEED to get rid of it. I'm just looking to move away from the Neon thing if at all possible and get something more practical. SOLD

I've seen this thing once, I'm speechless now that I'm looking at teh mod list and thinking back to how much I laughed. Defiantly a cool car.

also interested in how fast you think it is? and interested in selling the udp seperately if it'll work on a dohc?

Well, I'm not huge on bench racing. But with the trans that's in it (3.55) in it's current shape it should land you a low 14 sec/borderline 13 sec pass on street tires. But that's full interior and there's really not a whole lot of weight taken out of the car right now Just the air cond. and powersteering was removed, the carpet which is a whole 8lbs and the hood which may be another whole 8lbs. Strip down a stock neon and you're running high 14's. With an r/t trans (3.94) and some decent driving you should find yourself a bit faster. The car could def use a tune as well, it's still running a tad bit rich, do that and you're golden. There's no reason why this car couldn't run borderline 12's on street tires if you massaged it a little more. But I don't want to be ****y.

People running lower compression and a smaller cam have driven there way into the high 13's so this should be pretty damn close to that as it sits now.

As for the 420a motor, no, we share a block and I think that's about it. LOL Haven't you realized your cylinder head's ass backwards LOL Ummm, not too sure if the UDP will work on a DOHC, i've never owned a dual so I really don't follow them too often, literally and figuratively haha

As for the laughing at the car comment. That's what it's for. Seriously, the car looks the way it does for a reason, the very same reason you mentioned above. And that's what's so damn cool about it.

But I just can't justify keeping the car. I drive it once a month and if i put it in a garage and keeping dumping money into it I can't get myself a Jeep/truck, or whatever I decide on.

Alright, so I've come to the sad realization that I can't afford a newer wrangler. Too bad soo sad. I guess I'll get over it. Anyhow, I have found a couple trucks I'm interested in. So this thing needs to move quickly.

The price is now $2000. I can't get any lower than that. The car will still come with all the extras and the gas.

I'm not sure how much longer my DD is going to last me and I'd like to get the new truck within the next week or so.

So somebody help me out!

ludedude1993

is it possible for it to be tuned and run on a 93 Octane or possibly a 93/E85 fuel mixture?

element10
03-03-2008, 12:24 PM
Yes, you could do it that way.

For me, it was easier and cheaper to let it run on the 100LL because I don't drive it much.

A set of larger injectors and a MegaSquirt Setup and you could get this thing to run on whatever you wanted.

$1650 takes it.

I'm no longer going to provide any extra gas for the car. It's got a little over a quarter tank in it. So unless you're relatively local, you're going to need to tow this home.

Also, all the spare parts that were going to be sold with the car, no longer come with the car (UDP/belt, trunklid, spoilers, etc.)

I'm trying to get some money together to pay off my new truck ASAP. Thanks

I've had an OK amount of interest in the car, although everyone wants to buy it and not pay for it...nobody's 100% solid on purchasing the car...just online shoppers who haven't even come out and taken a look...

So it's still here...:wiggle:

if it ran on 93 out of the box

Yeah, that's the biggest hurdle i've come across with selling this car.

I just don't have the extra money to put into it anymore to get it running on pump gas.

what do you think it would cost to get it running on pump?

element10

Well, it depends on how you do it. Depending on which standalone system you go with will determine your total cost. The MegaSquirt standalones are doing very well in Neons. A complete setup like that might cost you $450. A better fuel pump. And then depending on what you really wanted to get out of the car, a larger set of injectors. The stock fuel system has been proven to pretty much hit a wall at 200whp. And that's with a standalone and pump gas. I don't know how high you could go with the gas that it's running on now.

All in all, I'd figure you could spend around $700 roughly if you go for the MegaSquirt system, a walbro 255 pump and a set of used injectors in the size of your choice. Plus the time it takes to learn/setup the standalone system and work out bugs and then tune.
