Maxima/Nissan Shootout

Hey myself and a few guys here in philly are trying to put together a nissan maxima drag racing shootout to be held at either Atco or Cecil later this spring.

Here is the link for anyone who wants to read the thread. Also I wanted to invite everyone in the tri-state to join in. This will be a run what you brung winner takes all. There will be a few B13's included so we'll just open it up to all nissan's. There classes will be seperated by mods, example: n/a, nitrous, turbo, etc. there will be a small fee to entry and like I said winner takes all no 2nd place, side bids are up to you.

ok looks like the shootout will have to be on a thurs or friday night, Saturdays they are running kiddie dragster, VP points series and test & tune all on the sameday so you most likely not get alot of runs on Saturdays

Tell me what you think these are some possible dates. I know having the shootout in early March is soon but this is the only Saturday thats open to test and tune only.

If early march is too soon for everyone it will be a good day to practice your skills and setup. Looks like cecilcounty is not as busy on saturdays and atco and maybe another option. here are their open saturday dates:

Mar-1, 8, 15, 22 and 29th Saturday Test & Tune Gates Open 8 am
Apr-26 Saturday Test & Tune
this maybe a good day for the shootout since the nopi's will be a atco the sameday and the track should be empty
May-10, 17, 24 Saturday Test & Tune

If you guys really want 350z people to go, go post it on there NE section maybe someone will go be ready with your flame suit though cause it gets rough on there.

I know of one that Might want to take you up on that offer...:) Hey i dont mind giving credit where its deserved. I dont venture on any 350z sites so i dont know what they are capable of staying n/a. From what ive heard the highest ones put out na was only like 300 something to the wheels but that might have been before the revup motor im not too sure.

If i had better tires to hook with id be trying to get into the 12s but i dont thinking im buying new tires by time this happens. Cant wait to see everyone out!

the only crazy NA I can think of is the dude from new york with the LSX powered 350z from hinson supercars.aso can't forget that the new VQ35HRs are capable of 12s with just drag radials or good traction.

omg thatd be sick but then its not even really a nissan anymore except the body. I would not mind taking that thing out for a ride. Or even didnt one guy put the vh45 in one and then turbod it later on? I would have rather seen the Z with a v8.

Chris the pro-drifter for maxxis has a titan motor but the hood barely shuts. dude from NY fits the LS2 motor with No prob.

I am hoping the shootout will bring maximas out of the wood works, cause I go to atco alot and never seen a 11sec maxima

so guys are you feeling april or may, atco or cecil. both atco and cecil are about 45-1hr from me so it does not matter. if someone has been to both tracks is one track better than the other

IMHO Atco sucks, I vote for Cecil. By the way I live 15 minutes from Atco and 70 minutes from Cecil. What's that tell you.

I was more or less complaning about the way they run their facility. I feel they are a bunch of idiots that need to get their **** together. Organization is key in my mind, and I know Atco is lacking in that area. They can do all they want to the stands/racing surface/etc but without a compitent staff what good is it all?

i actually had a 02 Maxima SE 6spd before i bought my Z, i can promise you that intake, headers and exhaust aren't going to get anyone close to an HR engined Z. forced induction might, however. and the 03-06 Z cars will be a bit easier of a target.

man, i gotta be honest, i miss my Max...... :cry:

ative....hes a Captain and has been in since the beginning of college for ROTC finished college and trained in Oklahoma, got sent to Korea, came home got sent to NY and then got sent to Iraq...when he gets back he only has a few days left in the military...i havent talked to him on whether or not hes staying in or not lately...

an 02 Max! i had one myself, 6spd, almost stock really, but i loved it! traded it in on the Z, but i must say, that was such a smooth ride, i almost regret it.

yeah man. it's getting better though, it's still in the 20s-30s here, but most of the precip is rain and slush. and it should be warming up soon, i hope. good news is, i can see most of my car now, still can't open the doors though, lol.

i was back home (bucks county) last weekend and i was jealous. 50 degrees, i saw people driving their nicely washed cars.........*sigh* :cry:
