Just joined about a week ago and I went about it all wrong with just putting somthing up for sale. My fault about that. But I have an 1989 Supra turbo but the engine went on me. So now I bought a 2000 Subaru 2.5RS. I didn't get to any meets yet but I would like to so I'll try and get to one real soon!

What happened with the Supra engine? Spun Bearing? BHG? I'm only curious because I have had 3 supras, 2 3rd gen's and a 4th gen. Thanks

probably one of the rod bearings, a very common problem on the 3rd gen supras. They are very tempermental if starved for oil, or run with dirty oil for an extended period of time. I spun a bearing in my 87.

You'd be better off buying an STi. It's a lot more than swapping in a motor, There is a whole laundry list of parts you'll need to make it work and work reliably(turbo, intercooler, hood, ECU, trans, axels, etc.). With the money you would spend on all those parts, you could sell your car and put a nice down payment on an STi. Then you would have the real deal, including the suspension and interior, not just a motor.

But surely easier for someone who doesn't wanna do an engine swap.
Personally i say start calling junkyards and asking for sti's that where rear ended by mack trucks.

Does it have to be a Mack truck?

yeah it does. being rear ended by a mack trunk puts a FP green turbo in there!

I mean duh... No i am just saying hit by a normal car may not render the car totalled.
