i got the car with the J30 in it but ive driven other 240's with the stock rear and theres a noticeable difference in the corners for sure.

well thats my old 240 that GU33 has
I installed the j30 myself
$50 junkyard :D
Fit right in no problems... 6 bolt
The only hard parts were getting it out of the J30 (I couldnt get the bolts on the driveshaft flange off so i cut the driveshaft off)
and when i installed it into the car i took a grinding wheel and cut off the excess on the 4 bolts so i could fit the closed end of the wrench on each side
Had i not done so and continued to use the open end i would have rounded off the nuts
p.s. twistedlanes, thats the one thing that i miss most about my old 240... theres a huge difference in the feel of corners
u usually dont have to worry bout the miles on the diff b/c how many ppl do u know that abuse an infinity j30?

sorry for taking over the thread..but what are the advantages of using that rear? is it stronger?

its not really "stronger" but it makes 2 burnout marks lol...
without it it seems like the rear end's weight is always shifting during a turn and you can feel which wheel is being driven
with the j30 both wheels are turning and the weight transfer is felt much less
p.s. sorry for jacking the thread lol

I have all the old parts ready for re-install if necessary. All stereo equipment has been
removed but I still have the speakers. Have a fitted car cover for it as well. Rear carpet has
been removed and there is a small amount of cosmetic rust, nothing structural. Was daily
driven but not driven hard. Only issue is a small exhaust leak that should be fixed this week
or next. The previous owner had a small section of the left front(drivers side) wheel well
that rusted through. Panel was welded into place and rust cleaned up and everything works
excellent.
I'm selling it for $6500. Great project car and has a lot of the important mods done to it.
Dynoed at 324/305. Tires were put on in October. Dents and dings on the body as is with a 17
year old car.
