I have a H22 in a EG and my motor is so freakin low to the ground. I was wondering if i could put a few grade 8 washers on the bolts and lift the motor about 3/4 inch. I know its sounds dumb but i don't know what do do to get it higher. Some people said that maybe a different mount system like progressive.

You could probably get away with that for awhile, but I would imagine the bolts would eventually give way.

Not to mention your car would vibrate like a mother ****er.

I don't think it would be a very good idea. Is your car lowered. Maybe raise it up a little. I'd have to see the car to be able to help out as I just can't imagine the engine being that low.

H22 motors sit unbelievably low in any car they besides stock. the headers sit super low to the ground. try asking over on honda-tech and see what kind of answers you get. im not sure how to fix it. i think most guys just deal with it lol

haha... I already hit my oil pan pretty good. I can already fit 2 fingers between my fender and tire. Just don't like scraping haha. Not to mention that the car would look dumb at stock height.

Thanks for the comments keep them coming and if any of you have a idea, please share

Is there a shallower oil pan available? I know its not always a good idea, but it would work. You cold get a shallow oil pan then have someone make you a header that hugs real tight to the pan. As long as its 4-2-1 you should be fine. Also, drive more carefully.

i don't know of anyone that would make the oil pan. Not to mention who would make the header for the shallow oil pan.

Function over form any day of the week. Raise the car up so that you don't stand a risk of bottoming out.

I meant have someone make you a custom header. There are probably tons of people who would make you one.

Most local shops can weld stainless and have mandrel benders:cool: Its not hard to cut your flange off of your header. Its a little more complex than making a downpipe but i bet if you look hard enough you'll find someone.

theres alot of R&D that goes into making a header. Anyone can make a header... But one that actually helps horsepower is totally different. I appreciate the help tho

You are correct. I believe it was turbo that had an entire article devoted solely to the basic r&d that goes into making power out of headers. For the most part headers all work on the same concepts. There are obviously a few designs that differ but they are all designed to remove exhaust gas from the cylinder as efficiently as possible because for obvious reasons any exhaust gas left in the cylinder after the exhaust valves close and the intake open is bad.

Welcome to having a motor swap in a Honda. I know my B16 is situated lower in the bay to clear the USDM hood. I wish I could slam my car. :(

I'd be careful by raising the motor up you will also be playing with you axle alignment also...3/4 might not do anything but I believe H swaps already create a problem with axles binding... its kind of the down side of having a H swap....what mounts are you using?

CRXed...you have trouble with the B16 and slamming your car? I was tucking all 4 with my LS-T and a 3" downpipe...scrapped the dp a little but just gotta be careful...B16 is similar in height but i couldn't see you having any major issues...

My H22 integra was the same way. I pinched the header. You really just need to watch what you drive.

Either suck it up or sell it!

i am using hasport mounts and axles.. I think what might be a little factor would be my wheel size. i have 195/50 R15's. You think that could do it

its not going to make really much of a difference. I was running 205/50s on my integra. I had hasports in it too.

Godamn Pearl, You didnt crack the pan at all?

Thats a good way to ruin a motor, Thats why I was never really a fan of Slammed cars. Especially in jersey with the road conditions we have you just never know.

i replaced everything. i did all of that damage when i drove through camden to one of the BFB meets. I put a new oil pickup, pan and tried to bang the header out.

the chunk of the transmission is still missing though :P

If you have a 4-1 get a 4-2-1, thats what im gonna have to do, I have broken the bolts out fo my header several times now.
