Not sure where you are located but Force One in catasauqua does amazing work. They painted my car and they are also painting a buddys evo at the moment. They are located right outside of allentown and are reasonably priced. If you are interested give a call to Roger(owner) 610-266-6721, tell him Damion sent you.

Rhineheimers is one of the best local places to go...sure I spelled that wrong. I have been using Newark Collision Center on Albe drive for basic stuff and they have been doing a decent job. Not perfect but not bad.

Where did your quote come from and waht did that entail? Door Jambs, body work etc..

Doesn't sound that bad, but for the price def check some other high end places cause thats a decent chunk of change. I used that Maaco when I had a pickup painted a few years back. Really no complaints, they got red paint on my steering wheel and my truck was painted silver...never figured that one out. But it was a straight up spray, I prepped it and stripped everything before it went in.

I used Royal Bodyworks on Albe Dr. in Newark in the past, so have several of my friends. I had him shave the OEM mouldings, remove a huge dent in the quarter, several smaller dents, shave the antenna and emblems, rear wing holes and the rear squirter on the roof and 2 coats of primer for $1500, he would paint it for another grand. I think I am going to go elsewhere for paint though, its hard to find someone that can paint black well.

Some pics, he did a pretty good job except for some primer overspray I was not happy with,

I would never use Maaco for anything but a spray, as long as I did 95% of the prep work. They can spray well but they dont give a **** about prepping.

The Maaco in Newark is 10 times better than the one in Wilmington. I had my one of my old cars painted there years ago and it came out simply beautiful. People would always ask where I had it painted and they were surprised to hear the answer. The problem with Maaco is everybody goes there for their bottom of the line 200 dollar jobs so they get a bad rep. When people shell out the extra money for a better paint job, that's what they get...

how much does a good maaco spray cost?

Well I think it can vary depending on the other amount of work needed/wanted. They give free estimates so it doesn't hurt swinging over there and talking to them about price and everything.

I've had terrible experiences with a place called "Body Works" in newark. Not only have I but 3 of my friends had bad experiences. My friend even sued the owner, Harry for over charging him and giving him a terrible paint job.

Well I went into three different shops today and got few more quotes. I decided not to do a color swap, frankly i dont want to spend too much since im trying to get into a new car next year. And i just want the car to be 1 color and look decent. So Factory color on bottom half, top half Same chrysler aspin black.

newark auto: $3500
Dents removed from hood, doors, quarter panels
JDM Bumper/Sides re finished from scratches
2 Tone, Black top factory color bottom
Fender Flares, Sides everything put on
lifetime warranty on paint
Turn around time 4-5 weeks

glasgo auto: 4,100K
Same as above in work
1 Month- Month and 2 weeks

bodyworkz: 2800$
Same as above in work
1 Week

im liking newark so far, body works harry makes it seem like its no issue, i seen the responses above so im kind of worried but the guy with the teggy said it was decent. i guess ill search other forums see if anybody used either of the two

^ hey I talked to muzzy, his guy called me couple months ago but he never got back to me. I wanted to make sure wherever the car is going has insurance incase anything happens worse case. But im still on the hunt for a shop, alot of DE shops aren't doing 2 tone jobs for some reason, i might have to check out MD,NYC area which other members of my forum got their jobs from, but i was really hoping for a local place.

Got ya bro,
Muzz does great work, but if you can't get him then yeah, its best to carry your ride out of state to get serious, quality, insured work done.

Back on this again - I'm reconsidering two-tone. Also, my paint doesn't have to be perfect, just not total crap - it's going on a project car that's fated to get banged around and stuff. I might go Maaco or something, but I'll most likely do all the stripping and prepping no matter who I go to (unless they've a problem with it).

I have a friend that got his car painted in Maaco in dover,.. it came out nice, but i'm waiting for him to complain.
I'm also looking for someone to paint my car... someone told me about blurrdperformance.com , but their website doesnt even look too hot.

I have a good friend in Maryland that does amazing work... he's reluctant on giving me a quote though.. so i'm afraid he'll charge me too much.
If his price is too high, I might check out that Muzzy guy.

The Best place in Delaware is East Coast Auto Body by far. They are the ones that did all the paint and bodywork on Wes's 350Z that just got featured in Import Tuner. They can be pricey but you are going to get a great paint job for sure. They are located in Dover right across from Kent General (now Bayhealth).

I re-evaluated the whole paint aspect. Its not that I dont want to or love to help out my fellow tuners, but Now we have a new sponsored Shop located in Virginia that will raise the bar in all aspects. Watch out for us in 2009. but we only do high end work and that usually translates to higher cost. The weekend paint jobs was not working as efficient as it should have. And instead of doing 10 cars for A x 10 = B amount. We rather do 1 car that is worth "B" amount. We are not abandoning our local folks, we just grown and moved to better bigger things. We can still do parts here locally in Dover DE, with our drop of/ pick up program. if interested just hit me up on myspace.com/muzzy350z

Just to clear up some mix up. A lot of ppl think That I own a shop...... total opposit. I own like 3 tools and rent a garage. The fact is that "Team Show Stoppers", has hands in many sponsores in the industry and our friendships have allowed us to be involved in many tuner shops. We are all a big family and work on each others cars. I'm not saying we are all just weekend wrench monkeys, we are experts in our field and we produce high quality work that we are vary proud of. We are just networking and building a better comunity by providing some of our work to none team members.
