What is actually going wrong with them? The coil, ICM, or what? What car is it in? What is done to the car? Does it have any EMS? Need some more info.

ok info its a 94 acura integra with a bone stock b18b motor only thing on it is a ram air intake. nothing crazy. back in sept her car shut off and had no spark. we put in a new dizzy it started right up set the timing to oem specs and it ran great. then on sunday it shut off on her and same thing no spark. went back to the company and they told me its over 30 days so they can't do anythign about it. so i ordered another one from a company that i ordered my dizzy from for my b16 swap i had in my civic. got it in the mail yesterday put it in started right up no problem. set the timing to oem specs drove it for about 20 mins and then the tach started going crazy i was about 2000 rpms or so and it was jumping up and down over and over again then the car died again no spark.

i might have an obd1 OEM dizzy if ur interested...the aftermarket ones i.e. Cardone, Crown and those other manfactuers do a horrible job of rebuiling them...try enough of them and u will get a good one. I cant tell ya how many defective aftermarket dist. i have gotten!!

Do you have a helms manual? Can you ohm out the coil and the ICM? If you don't want those blown dizzys I will take them off your hands.

ok well i checked all the ohms and everything was up to spec so i said let me check everything else. sure enough it was the wiring harness. the clip for the dizzy got messed up and sure enough i shoved it in there nice and good and boom the car started right up so now i have to find a clip and go from there.

I have that harness plug off an obd1 B-series harness if you need one to solder on. I feel bad to hear about all your dizzy misfortune. PM me if you want it.

In the meantime until you get a good clip. Take a few zip ties and wrap them around to hold that clip in nice and tight.

So how many good dizzy's do you have sitting in your garage if you swapped them so much? I could use 1 or 2.

What was actually wrong with the clip? I have noticed that alot of honda clips just break over time. I guess due to engine bay heat, vibration, the fact they're cheap plastic and damn near impossible to remove, not sure which it is haha.

the clip on the plug that goes from the harness to the dizzy broke off. and the plug would jump out and cause the car to turn off. i replaced the whole harness i didn't want to sit there and play around with cutting and all that stuff. i found a harness for 25 bucks and it worked perfectly!
