Wow. That 86 is really clean!

Are you wiring in an a/c and all the idle up stuff?

I wired up a silvertop/AE86 for a buddy and I didn't feel like messing with all that extra crap.

Are you using the evap lines for fuel lines too?

Your gonna want to get an Adjustable 4link in the rear with a panhard bar. Other wise your alignment will be way out of spec. Also the old ass bushing have alot of play and will be very sloppy. Just a suggestion. Also need to get some bits to claim more steering angle.

she's coming along nicely just trying to locate a new valve cover gasket set. i didnt receive the the grommets and they dont interchange with nothing in the us. other than that the new igniter is good. hopefully i could make some time in this coming week to finish her. im running on 4 hour sleep during the week. it seems there is not enough time during the day. lol but she will be a real screamer when she's 100%. trust me i get a little giddy when i work on her. lol

So Dan's hachi has been a awesome adventure building her. From the day she was towed to me i saw her as a blank canvas. Everything i wish i could have done to my hachi i was going to do to his. So between everything that was going on in the world meaning "there is no such thing as overnight parts from japan". specially for the toyota silvertop platform. simple things like a valve cover gasket set took way to long to get. probably becuase the people that promise to shipped them never did. Repetuable companys just gave me the run around with empty promises. until a good other forum member met me halfway between here and boston and deliver me the goods.

know enougth complaining she's 97% done and tomorrow god willing would be the day she finally runs on her own. i have started her twice before but never driven her. Hopefully Dan would enjoy her as much i have had building her. NOW BEAT THE SH*t OUT HER FINALLY.

here are some pics:

solder solder solder i must have put in about 4 hours of soldering on her.

http://i30.tinypic.com/ru1cvq.jpg

probably my favorite part of the build the igniter and ignition coil inside the car. oh don't worry about the hole i have that cover too.

http://i31.tinypic.com/2pq1gjr.jpg

One of my biggest problem on my hachi was the ecu location. Everytime i went drifting some dumd ass would kick it it and fry it. On Dan's I tucked it up so high and cleared from any freaked out person's legs.

The relays are away from people's feet also. i just love to stick a relay on everything ecu, fan motor, fuel pump, guages, everything. trust me it save me a million times

Beside installing the battery, air filter, radiator cap the engine bay is done.

well it has been an adventure but it was time to say goodbye to the hachi today. after 9 month of waiting at the shop for little miscelaneus parts the hachi is some what done. she runs, she grows, she sounds cool but it needs a little tuning and of course the missing link. the wright igniter and she'll be fully functional. unfortunately you cant trust ebay, or other toyota guys to sell you right part. she left here today on her own power but with the assistance of a tow truck "no registration i guess".lol

hopefully Dan and Dave keep her for a long time and get to enjoy what we kindly call at the shop "tak's revenge".

enjoy some pics...take good care of her guys i miss her already:cry:.
