A upsetting trend with TST lately

To me it seems that TST has changed from what it once stood for when i first joined. It used to be alot better, More calm..IDK

People lately a few select members of TST i have noticed more than others have been constantly putting down other members, or their cars. I will not release names because its not my place. But come on guys what happened to the same group that started this place...Now its just punk ass chumps.

Maybe its just me but i think thought that "TriStateTuners" accepted ALL types and forms of cars... Lately its been a little differ...More noticeable at the meets rather than forums...But they are all in the same anymore.

Well you have to look at this way Justin. There will always be the war of Tuners vs. Show. While some people who are into show type cars believe they may have some rare type of vehicle, the other tuner crowd is going to see it as a common car with a body kit. It's just a large difference in opnion that you can't really change or contain after a certain extent.

yeah i dont think any site with 500+ members can have that same 'home sweet home' kind of feel as a site that has 100 or less members. but with that said i still think its a really good group here and i hope it stays that way. its always going to be a compromise though... some things get better as we grow and some dont.

forums forums forums. you can tell me that this is the only forum you are all on. becuase if you are on others, you should know damn well that this stuff happens. Wether it be the older or newer members it doesnt matter. TST is a melting pot that is different from the rest. Whereas other sites bring people together based on a common interest, we bring people together that may have no things in common except the fact that they live close to eachother. Because of this, TST may be more prone to fighting and bickering. I say.....deal with it, I am.

If I argue, it's because someone is being a moron or something of the like. I think I've done a farily good job of containing myself and not coming off like a total asshole. In all honesty, I think there's a lot of dumb people on here who just ask for it.

Not really, I put in my stint at CVS in high school, but that's it. I could NEVER do it now though. I've just naturally turned into an incredibly impatient, short-tempered, anti-people person. In general, I believe people are stupid and that annoys me.

I agree 100%. Even though I'm failry new here, I noticed a difference from when I first joined to now. When I first got here, people complimented me on my car (even though it's "just" a Cavalier). And honestly, I was kind of expecting the normal responses such as "Who cares how fast it is, it's still a girly car.". And was pleasantly suprised that I didn't get that response, at least until now. In one thread that will remain unnamed, I just got that very comment. I guess the author of that post thought he was being original. Either way, It's a sign of things to come if people keep disrespecting others like that.

I think a lot of this has to do with people arguing on opinions and when they feel strong in their opinion they will argue until they get that one person to agree. I am a nice guy and even though I might not be a fan of most imports I still respect the person that owns it. People tend to judge people on the car they drive which is totally the wrong way to do that. No matter how different all of us are here we need to treat eachother with great respect. We all came on here for a reason and that was to meet new people in a way that we enjoy the same thing, not bash on them. Those are some of my .02 cents.

HAHAHA. That was funny I have to admit.

But seriously, I drive a Neon and my fiance drives a saturn. Thats what I tell everyone. I'm not ashamed of it, because I used to build show cars a few years ago and I won many trophies including NOPI in Atlanta for my 1998 neon that was slower then a golf cart, but had a hand made hood, shaved everything, body kit, stereo, etc. I had a lot of fun building it and I met a lot of great people along the way. Sure, there were a lot of a-holes out there, but you have to get past that and have a good time. It also helps dispell insults being 6'4" and 310lbs. Hehehe. "wow, is that a slow-matic" "Dude, this car is auto, so gay" "Nice Peon" "Great, a cowl hood on an automatic neon" Yup, i've heard it all.

So now I drive a neon that will beat a viper on the strip, and we have a Saturn that could hang with some mustangs, but that doesnt' change anything. It's all about having a good time.

So some narrow minded person wants to make fun of your car? I'll guaruntee you that for that one person, there are 20 more on a daily basis that are nudging and pointing at your car as it goes down the street. Be proud of what your'e doing and you'll feel much better.
