Finally started working again, this time at a used car dealership
yesterday and today got up at 4am and went with the guys to the Manheim car auction over near lancaster (they said its the biggest in the country) and basically took cars they bought from there to the dealership and back and forth to shops and such, and yesterday they had their "high line" cars, definately saw a lot of cool stuff there, and VERY cheap
a gallardo Nero (black on black on flat black) went for 163k
among other things
Got to drive some cool stuff already
07 cooper s (auto)
04 s-type
03 s-type 5-speed
04 x-type 5-speed
will be something new tomorrow doin 2 airport runs
happy to say its the first job I have actually enjoyed, and my "boss" is a very cool dude and they have some awesome cars on the lot. Im glad to say its nice to see that not all dealers are crooks though. when we were prepping a list of cars to look at, we ran autocheck reports and the cars that had accidents were off the list and cars they knew were problematic were also off the list..looks like they dont try to just jump on the best profit and its nice to work with honest people
they have over 100 cars right now, I will be taking pictures of a few on monday and tuesday, so yea, im finally employed, with a fun job to boot
in an effort NOT to get accused of advertising, I wont post info but if anyone here is looking for cars to buy feel free to PM me they might have it...no cheap stuff, most cars start at 10k and are higher line, no shells, and usually nothing pre 2001
pictures from yesterday's "highline" sale can be seen here, I snapped a few on my phone while running around doing errands so some are off

wat exactly do you do there, and whats an airport run?
CleanNeon98

I wont say because
1. I dont want to advertise
2. I dont want people calling the place messing around
3. I have a good relationship with the owners and I dont want someone stupid to say something dumb and **** it up
Airport runs: we have 2 out of town people flying in tomorrow one at 9:45am and one at 12noon so I have to get to the lot grab one of the cars there go to the airport get the first person and drop them off and then go back for the second one
sounds like fun, good luck.
Full time?

I used to go there when I worked at Reedmans to buy used cars with Herb Sr.
He would buy a car, and then we would be responsible for finding it in the gigantic parking lot then getting it on the car carrier. While we were looking for it we used to hop into the funnest thing would could find to drive around and look for the car.
Had a lot of good times there in those parking lots.
"TST's very own Stig"...really?

See the thread in "The Garage Bin"
Yeah I've done that. I drove a 911 while I was looking for a Lincoln town car one time.

I actually hated that car until I saw Charlize Theron flying around in one down Center Center towards Walnut street when they were making The Italian Job here...then they became kool. :)

I can honestly say that I have hated european cars until I drove the Cooper S...I mean it looks great IMO, good performance for 1.6 liters, awesome colors, practical (except rear legroom), good on gas, and the sunroof is huge, among the funky interior, rides very well, etc.etc..it singlehandedly changed my mind, I dont even care if its reliable or not, with all the positives it offers I would definately own one, I wouldnt even care if it broke more often than my honda like most german cars lol

Check out www.carsurvey.org and consumer reports for that (consumer reports isnt free but worth it).
The car feels and drives like every other german car I have driven, very smooth, very solid, very well made, but I dont know how it behaves when it gets out of warranty, I would recomend getting one new or a used one with the balance of the factory warranty on it. Also, there are warranties usually available through dealerships, they have companies that do it for them..I recall Lincoln or something being mine on my Honda Civic when I got it
edit: IIRC BMW has been making the new mini since its release (2002)

Haven't seen it in a while but they filmed th ebeginning and maybe some of the end...for sure the beginning. It starts showing a wide shot of the Philly skyline, the guys meeting up down South Philly area(deleware ave area/warehouse area)...then on to C.T. flying around City hall towards Walnut street, lol.
