Get a saab, a late model (94+) 9000 turbo can make boat loads of power. But it has to be a later model, the early models have glass trasmissions.

I don't really know what your budget is, but i am a fan of the newer legacy gt's. If you are looking to keep it under 15k i'd say an m3. there are tons of low mileage e36's out there that are in mint condition.
