This makes me SICK. No bull**** the only reason you ever saw me rocking a NY yankees cap was this guy. Seriously was one of my two childhood idol's. Seriously this is just as bad as being a drug
abuser/user to me. I dont know what goes through people's minds when there already making millions a year, like they need anything else.

I heard an interesting question on the radio today. What will be done to adjust records that accused roid users hold?

i dont give a flying **** about this anymore. this **** is getting out of hand. all of these accusations were of players using them before they were illegal in the MLB. so ****ing what if they did it when it was "legal". leave them the **** alone.

Dude, what happened to innocent until proven guilty?
I think Roger is doing the right thing.
He's suing this guy in court.
Let's wait on the judgement until that all goes down.
I hope it aint so on The Rocket though.

I agree, the users pay the ultimate price.
Besides, everyone seems to forget that Mark McGuire hit 49 home runs in his rookie year long before the steroid accusations. On Barry Bonds, everyone forgets as you get older, you get heavier. When I was 24, I was a stick figure like Barry Bonds too. At 31, I'm definately much bigger now and if being a professional athlete was my career, I could probably be just as muscular as him without roids so I don't find his growth that unbelievable. I mean the guy is a professional athlete who can afford to hire a team of dieticians, strength training coaches, etc and he has all the time in the world to train because that is his job which he seems to take very seriously. And when someone has been doing their job for a long time, don't we expect them to get better and better? I dunno. I'm gonna hold judgement.

you can tell roid users just by their face- no drug test needed

Haha, I was about to type up a variant of "who the hell cares" until I read further and saw that multiple people beat me to it.
Seriously, don't people have anything better to talk about than athletes using substances that weren't even banned when they took them...

yeah barry bonds and others used a non-traceable steroid called "the clear" which was not traceable until recent years.
the creator of this version of the steroid was the founder of the prohormone (legal) industry too.
to say it's legal or not is debatable, since the drug was a variant of something illegal, but did the same thing.
this is actually how the prohormone industry works- they change one part of the chem structure and resell it.
EDIT: why do you own two awesome cars :o

Ok, and correct me if I'm wrong, but any rules on HGH and most of their steroid policy didn't come in baseball until later years.

Seriously. Do we really need to spend our country's money on such petty things as drugs in baseball? If the MLB is so concerned, then let them deal with it on their own, with their own coin. We all know they have enough of it.
The government doesn't need money to fund this **** from my paycheck.

being that baseball is America's "pastime" i think the govt feels the need to intervene in one of the major things that identify ourselves to the world, aside from capitalism
either way- my opinion- sure, drugs can make you strong, but they can't make you hit a ball in the sweetspot on the bat, or throw a pitch accurately,

I think the government should stay out of matters like this, I'm tired of seeing my tax dollars wasted on "special appointments" and "commitee's for the blah blah blah", but thats another topic.
Most of the users of steriods used them before baseball outlawed them, why should they be punished now?
Baseball was pretty stagnant, before the home run-run a few years back, that little competition added a whole lot more excitement to the game, and as a side result, the guys that didn't want to use roids had to train alot harder to compete with them. Notice that alot of todays players are bigger faster, stronger than their 70's 80's and early 90's countparts.
But whatever the case, why does this topic really matter. At the end of the day, after a good game, does it really affect our lives so much that we have to devote so many resources to figuring out who wanted to get stronger.
Taking roids/PH's is no walk in the park, you have to train every bit as hard as before, even harder, to make the gains, and keep the gains. And there alot of side effects that must be delt with in other ways, to make sure that their effects are reduced.

If Clemens was so innocent, then why hasn't he taken a lie detector test yet? I think he is just going through the Bonds motions on this because he thinks/knows that there isn't any hard evidence against him. He may be innocent, but the circumstantial evidence is pretty convincing against him. No one peaks at age 40.
Wait until they start snooping into the NFL.
The only way to stop all of this nonsense is to have a no tolerance stance against these things and ban for life on first offense. Otherwise, the leagues are putting the athletes in tough positions because "everyone else is using" and their livelihood depends on their performance. We would probably be amazed at the percentage (>50% my guess) of athletes that have used illegal performance substances.

This countries priorities are ass backwards. Who cares, they are athletes playing a GAME. Management places huge amounts of pressure on them to win and they are obviously competitive type A personalities so I do not think them taking performance enhancing drugs is really that shocking. Every home run they hit or record they break can translate into a new multi million dollar contract, who here would not try and get any edge possible to be the best. ON top of all that, how does it affect any one of us in any way at all, oh thats right IT DOESN'T.
Your idols and role models are never the people you think them to be. We are all human no matter what levels we reach in life. We all make bad decisions and have character flaws. Expecting someone to be perfect because they are an athlete or other public figure is just unreasonable and unrealistic. Get over it and move on. They still have qualities worth admiring.

psssh! Old people. What did they think, the records would stand for ever? There's better training now for any sport then there was 50 years ago. Also athletes can play longer now. Look at brett farve, he's flippin awesome.

you do realize that the government makes millions of dollars off of baseball. From the taxes on the food in the stadium, to the taxes on the tickets, to the taxes of the players salary, to the fines being levied against those lying in court.
The government stands to lose a ton of money if the MLB fell apart. So yes, they're going to do whatever they can to keep things moving along there.

Since when is the MLB close to falling apart? If this report didn't come out, no one would no, and no one would care!

I never said the MLB was close to falling apart. All I'm saying is that the government makes a ton of money off of them of it is in their best interest to throw some money into the investigation.
How do you think so many fans would feel about the sport had this investigation been thrown to the wayside? The sport would be tainted more than it is now.
Roid's are illegal any way you look at it anyway, so the government has to step in regardless.

I agree that players should be punished for breaking the law, but wasting this amount of time and money on this is absurd. I think they should be spending more time on other issues in america crime, school shootings and other issues. No one is going to die if they found out it may be possible that a MLB player took something his rookie year.
