this build thread is different because my last one was for a 94 hatch and it was white, this one is red.
I began to herculine the floor tonight. 97' rolla has the pics so as soon as he gets them to me ill have em up here. Other than that when it dries tommorow i will have even more pics and hopefully some exterior shots as well.

So is it a vx or cx?

My friend was thinking of using that in the trunk area of his hatch. I hope it turns out nice for you.

Are you planning on doing anything to the car? Or just going to drive it?

Its actually a dx. The current mods list goes
jdm b16a
lsd trans
weapon r header
2.25" exhaust into a stock looking muffler
aebs intake manifold with short ram
currently chipped with ****ty base map
insane stage 400 clutch lol
del sol seats
ebay steering wheel
that awesome rhino liner
cheapo sleeve coils
i may have missed something but idk

The current plans are to get a new clutch, probably a stage 2. I simply feel it is insanely unnecessary and dangerous to my driveline to use an unsprung clutch on such a mild build
The car was in a front end accident and never really lined up so Id like to get a new pass fender and hood and corner lights and see if i can get it all straight.
I would then like to invest a good amount of money into my suspension. I would like to get GC coils and tokico struts with a rear sway bar and upper tie bars. I deffinately need LCA's and a front camber kit as it sits. The car is not my daily so i take things slow.

Oh, also, I'm 6'7" but really like the optocal illusion of how small my car is when i stand next to it.

I go to lycoming college. I believe I talked to you at one of the meets at TJ Maxx. I had the black ek coupe with the boosted single cam.

are those del sol wheels?

dragonfly2k3
02-04-2008, 02:12 PM
Oh yeah, i did talk to you redex.
Also, pearl, they are not del sol wheels, they are 16's but nobody seems to know what they are off of. Id really like to get some LS mesh or other nice 15s. My only problem with the ls is that they are common.

they look kind of cool actually, dont get rid of them.

if i were you i'd dump the **** out of that thing and it would look fly.

also, try and get a kenji chipped ecu. my b16 moved out. visit www.xenocron.com, he sells great basemaps

Its coming along, but really slowly haha. I believe i blew a head gasket(coolant leaking from under head) so that will be my next adventure. Im hoping tax returns will allow me new suspension and a new fender awhile.

redex04
02-04-2008, 06:44 PM
got more pics of the rhino liner?

dragonfly2k3
02-04-2008, 07:08 PM
Not currently. I can get some when i go home next. It still needs touched up, i wouldnt mind doing another coat but probably wont just because the seats are back in already. I do have a leak somewhere in the firewall, its raining it.
Oh, pearl, I'm gonna ditch those wheels. They are incredibly heavy and bent. I am starting to like 16s more and more though. My only concern is not being able to really slam it on 16s.

Damn that sucks about the headgasket..is it smoking at all?

dragonfly2k3
02-05-2008, 01:14 PM
It smokes so much from running rich its hard to tell what fuel and whats oil. I figure for a total of like 200 bucks it doesnt hurt to just do it along with the timing belt. Its better safe than sorry(pronounce F u K'd)

So it must have some shaved side mouldings then, being a DX. They look the best w/o moulding.

I would look into some koni sports instead of the tokicos. Since they are rebuildable, it makes them the better choice in the long run since struts will never last forever.

GL with the car and the headgasket install. It's not that hard to do, I would just make sure you replace the bolts and get the head checked by a machine shop to make sure it didn't warp at all, since most often, Honda heads to warp a little bit when the HG blows.

If it was cx, would leather be an option? I cannot see someone spending the time/money to remove the moldings then fill the holes but the car came with leather seats so idk. Also, a h-t user has offered me 6 month old k-sports for 400 bucks. This seems like a good option to me, but again I would like to see if they are rebuildable. If i dont opt for the k-sports i will still be looking for used suspension. My budget is only about 500 bucks for the spring/shock set-up.

Looks sweet!

Ksports are nice, but if they're leaking, pass. They aren't rebuildable, and the struts cost $100 a piece. I'd pay $350 for them used, which is how much I sold mine for with about 10k miles on them and 9 months of use.

I had them, and loved them, but they are STIFF if they have off-the-shelf rates. I would look for some koni yellows/GCs. They best by far IMO and I don't even own them yet....

Sounds to me like you have a CX. They came with "pleather" interiors. Vinyl that looks like leather. It was a sweet interior, but most of them were blue, or cracked and then vinyl is really uncomfortable. No hatches came with real leather from the factory actually.

What is the purpose of the liner? I never heard of anyone doing that!!!

dragonfly2k3
02-10-2008, 02:20 AM
I just like the way it looks. It also acts as a slight sound deadener for when the carpet is removed. Also, its really durable. I no longer worry about getting mud on my car, i just hop in haha.

Ordered some stuff the last couple of days.
LSDmotorsports tuner clutch with street disc
LSDmotorsports 11lb flywheel
amber corners
head gasket set
oem timing belt
arp head studs
and, best of all, a tein key chain! lol. I will most certainly put pics up once the parts come in.

Ive decided to find some LS mesh wheels, and polish the lip with a gold mesh. As much as their are LS wheels out there, i dont see many quality gold ones, and when i do they look perfect on milano.

Just be sure NOT to get the 195 55 15s on them. I had that "OEM" tire size on them when I had them on my DC and they looked like balloons...they also rubbed a LOT with the car lowered around 3.5 inches.

I'm actually also kinda looking for some of those. I really liked the wheels.

There has been some action in here. I picked up a dry nitrous kit today, but i probably will not use it dry, i might convert it to a wet kit.

ha, beat ya to it, sort of, i still dont have the wheels haha. I got my new clutch in this weekend. It shifts perfect, but jones honda sold me the wrong right axle seal, so only 1 of them got replaced. The rear main did get replaced though. I got 100 miles on it this weekend, im going to try to get another 150 on it by next and then another 250 over spring break. Im also going to do my HG and T belt over spring break! I have also decided to order an energy suspension master kit, while doing my clutch we found that every one of my bushings are shot.

lol, it was still usable, i just hated it and ahd the money so i decided to do it. It turns out it was an act maxx extreme PP with a 6 puck disc. The PP is for sale by the way, i will include alignment tool and a stock B series flywheel. Say, 70? i can include the 6 puck disc as well, but i doubt anyone wants to install a used disc ha. The new clutch is a LegalSpeedDesigns Tuner series, it is still stiff but its got a full disc and is much more driveable, just waiting for break in to finish so i can beat on it haha.

updates! my car runs again. over the last 5 or so days i replaced my head with a b17 head milled .010. I also got an added bonus that when i went to take the head apart to lap valves and change stem seals the head had dual valve springs and Ti retainers! I didnt notice at first because i knew that pr3 heads cam with dual intake springs and i had never seen a stock retainers. Once i got to exhaust and realized that it had dual springs as well it was weird. We checked my stock head and sure enough they have single exhaust springs and steel retainers. To say the least im pretty happy. I also installed arp head studs.
The car runs, but not well. im hoping to be able to get tuned monday(just a street tune) and get some form of muffler on the car. Currently the set up is header, then a test pipe, then open. Needless to say, it is ear-bleedingly loud.
